I love the Island Mystic. Yesterday I got "Today at the bank, you will lose someone else's pants." Ohhh Kayy???? :thinking:

I've gotten "Keith" in fortunes a couple of times, it's random. And yes, Morningstar, the mystic is having a big "trousers" kick right now, today and yesterday's fortunes both contained trousers. (not pants)

As for Keith, I don't know what happened to him. He comes and goes.

You are so right. It was "trousers." What a very, very strange fortune with such an old-fashioned word for "pants."

Gotta wonder just what exactly is going on in that little guy's head? Perhaps he does not get off of the island often enough. :P

Er.. Trousers isn't an old-fashioned word for pants, it's what 'pants' are called in Britain... :) We don't say pants... lol

My guess is this is a reference to theChicken Song, a comedy single released by the team behind the satirical puppet show Spitting Image in the mid-80s. Apparently it was written by the same people who write the scripts for Red Dwarf (Grant/Naylor?!):


"Hold a chicken in the air, stick a deck-chair up your nose
Buy a Jumbo-Jet, and then bury all your clothes
Paint your left knee green, then extract your wisdom teeth
Form a string quartet, and pretend your name is Keith."

That was a darn fine tune - the Island Mystic makes more sense than I'd thought! :D

Oops! :oops: There I go again--thinking in America-only terms. Hope I didn't offend any Brits.

But, honest to goodness, no one refers to that particular item of clothing as trousers here in the U.S. It is, however, much more elegant-sounding than the word "pants." Compared to "trousers," "pants" sounds so base and common.
