Some people regard certain tracking cookies as spyware though. =/ I personally don't care to tell the truth.

It means not equals (just an equals with a / through it, I prefer != so I don't have to think about it, hee). To me tracking cookies are not spyware, they're not even a major annoyance.

I have never gotten spyware or adware from neo before, I think that is only possible if you click on certain banners. However I use Firefox, so that may cause some difference.

Yes, Firefox and all other Mozilla-based products are more secure. Why? Here is a list of the most important reasons:
* It is not integrated with Windows, which helps prevent viruses and hackers from causing damage if they somehow manage to compromise Firefox.
* There is no support for VBScript and ActiveX, two technologies which are the reasons for many IE security holes.
* No spyware/adware software can automatically install in Firefox just by visiting a web site.
* Firefox doesn't use Microsoft's Java VM, which has a history of more flaws than other Java VMs.
* You have complete control over cookies.

Recently many flaws have been found in Firefox though, and Symantec claims that it now has more vulnerabilities than IE.

Oh and yeah, about Firefox... well Microsoft has to combat it somehow. It's 'award winning' browser has just recently been beaten
So expect a massive overhaul with IE as MS tries to take back the browser market.
Now, about Firefox, the one reason it'll be safer is because it's Open Source, and updates are released at least once a month, if not 3 or 4 times a month.

least its easy to get rid of the spy cookies i'm happy i pay for premium though i dont know how i'd play with all the popups i run so much t once taht any additional download makes my comp cry

Neopets isn't just in it for profit.
If they didn't care about their users, they wouldn't have lifted one finger for the site.
They do care about the users.
They do what is the best for us, they want us to have fun.

I find it rather stereotypical and also rather prejudiced of some people to simply say Neopets doesn't care about it's users as a whole. I believe Adam and Donna truely and sincerely care about their users. Do you think they wanted the banners ads all over the site? Do you think Adam, Donna, the wonderful programmers, the under-paid monitors, and the fantastic artists are all in it for the money? Heck, they've said many times that they're underpaid. So it's obviously not all for the money.
If you want to blame the advertisements and the uncaring stereotype on someone, blame it on Doug Dohring, NOT TNT as a whole. I think it's extremely offensive, rude, and puts them down when they've had absolutely nothing to do with some of the money decisions that occur.
I am not directing this at anyone personally, but I always hate to see when people are degrading TNT's reputation and blaming all of the money making on them.

None on IE, none on Firefox, none on MSN.

I have gotten pop-ups from neo and sometimes worse things. As for spywhere look out for:

and a few others. My Spybot S & D flags them as spyware.

This isn't TNT. This is Dougy boy and the other fat cats at the top who have yet to spend more than an hour on their own site. They are the ones selling out any artistic integrity that the site once had.
