Right now I've pretty much only got the pets up but I have a long flight coming up so intend to sort out the layout while on the plane

Well, it really does depend on what you want to do with them... but to be honest, for the most part, I'd much rather that they stay here.

Do the Gwalla next! :D

Btw, the Dimber is really cute, I never liked it at first, but you made it look so cute!

Oh, and the Gwalla looks like it'd come from Faerieland or maybe Terror Mountain.

I'm eager to see your take on the Smakaderp ('pachyderms' spelled by sound & then jumbled), especially since it clearly won't win the popularity poll and become a real pet. (I suspect it may have been a draft version of the recent desert petpet Ettaphant, and at any rate it would make a good petpet.)

You've done a fantastic job with these.

I agree, the Cincopie could be a Maraquan Kiko (Look Ma, no bandage!) . . . but which color Cincopie?

Well, like I said, it'd have to be a modified Cinocopie... it'd have to have a bandage since it's a Kiko trademark - or maybe just crossed pieces of seaweed to keep with the underwater theme. Anywho... looking at the other Maraquan pets, it'd have to be blue or green since most Maraquan pets fall within those colours.

Anyway... the votes are in (hehe) and the next 3 pets will be, in no particular order:

  • the Gwalla: representing Faerieland;
  • the Smapaderk: representing The Lost Desert; and
  • the Furmani: representing Tyrannia.

Okay, I have the Gwalla ready for posting, but Photobucket is down for scheduled maintenance... which I honestly had no idea had been scheduled. HeHe. But although I can't post the pics as yet, I'll post everything else and add the pics later.

Before that, however, I realised when I was doing the Gwalla that I've been sorta slack with the colours... some of the pets have more than others, etc. Sorta like TNT I guess. HeHe. Rest assured that I will eventually go back and add other colours to the pets I've done, but I doubt I'll ever do them all in every colour available (obviously since I'm not doing the redraws, etc.)

Anywho, enough of that...

Introducing the

Gwalla

The Gwallas are cheery, peaceful creatures who live and play amongst the clouds of Faerieland. Close cousins of the Polaflints who live on Terror Mountain, the Gwallas spend most of their time frolicking at the place closest to where the clouds meet the mountains.

Gwallas have a deep-seated love for music, especially singing, and on clear nights, dreaming Neopians can often hear the song of the Gwallas drifting down from the clouds.

Yep, I know Fire isn't as fiery as the normal Fire pets, but I think it looks great anyway. I'm actually very impressed with these recolours... normally there's at least one I don't like, but this time, I think they all came out looking incredible - especially the Blue, Pink, Fire and Shadow ones. Oh, and can't forget White or Purple (or Brown, Green, Orange, Red or Yellow). HeHe.

HeHe. Nope!

Never will any of my Purple pets catch the dreaded orange spot disease.

<3 I love all the colors. I adore the Shadow one...the purple one is great. I really like the fire one too! I really like the way you color these. :) The Gwalla was one of my favorite pets of the April Fool's day pets, I would flip if they made it a pet. :)

Well... isn't this interesting. From my best recolours so far (in my opinion) to what I consider to be my absolute worst. I mean, colourwise it's okay (except for white) but this pet was a nightmare to recolour... ah, what am I saying, the pet itself was just downright annoying. Fullstop.

And on that note... introducing the

Smapaderk

Cousins of the Elephante and Ettaphant, the Smapaderks are slow, lumbering creatures that dwell in the hot sands of the Lost Desert. Although they initially come across as slightly dim-witted, Smapaderks are in fact extremely friendly and industrious - although, working at their slow and steady pace, often means that it takes them longer than most to complete whatever tasks are at hand.

When not working (which is rare), Smapaderks can often be found gathered around the various watering holes of the Lost Desert, bathing in the cool waters or lazing in the sun as they converse amongst themselves in the slow, drawn-out language.

I just realised I've been rather slack with the thank yous, so I thought it was time to say a big, sweeping THANK YOU to everyone who has commented.

Anywho... how's this for dedication. 3 pets in one day.

Ladies and Jellyspoons, the

Furmani

On the northern most side of Tyrannia, just beyond the far edge of the plateau, a vast primordial swamp stretches as far as the eye can see. It is the home of a variety of bizarre creatures - krawks, searexes, blunas, scadoes and others.

Here, on clear nights and dim, misty mornings, strange lights can be seen playing across the marsh. Most believe that these lights are nothing more than pockets of swamp gas, but the creatures of the swamp know otherwise. They know that these lights are the Furmani.

Of all the creatures in Neopia, none are more shy and secretive than the Furmani. Generally fearful of outsiders, the Furmani keep to the swamp, dancing delicately across sodden patches of earth so as not to fall into the dark waters that would otherwise extinguish their flames. Unfortunately, though, these lights hold a strange fascination for others, and it is not uncommon for an unsuspecting outsider to get themselves into trouble trying to catch one of these elusive lights.

When this occurs, the Furmani forget their fear and come to the aid of the helpless creature, leading them to safety before disappearing back into their marshy home.

I'm generally pleased with how this one came out. Not sure which is my favourite (but I'm leaning towards Blue). The Brown one sorta reminds me of those fudge-covered chocolate pets that TNT has as shopkeepers... all it needs are some sprinkles and a cherry. HeHe.

Right, now let's see where we are... 9 pets down, 40 to go (remembering that I'm not doing the Nikondrak).

Neopia Central: the Hughman
Haunted Woods: the Vermee
Mystery Island: the Wazziup
Terror Mountain: the Lamameeah
Faerieland: the Gwalla
Tyrannia: the Furmani
Lost Desert: the Smapaderk
Meridell: the Dimber
Maraqua: the Cinocopie

So, for the first round of worlds, that leaves:

Space Station/Kreludor: the Slymook
Krawk Island: the Swaq

After that... well, I'll decide when I get there.

Hi ya'll!

Just a quick post to say that this weeks pets might be a little late... even as much as a week. The reason being that it is my birthday on Friday, so I'm gonna be a little bit preoccupied this weekend. Well, at least Friday and Saturday anyway. We'll see how I go with posting on Sunday though...
