Christmas, Valentines Day and Halloween are religious based, but we got sidebars for those

Actually, unless your a pagan during the 17-1800's, I don't think that you have to worry about Halloween being religious to anyone. And Valentine's Day is more Greco-Roman mythology than it is religion. ;)

Acctually, Halloween is celebrated as All Hallows Eve, the day before All Souls day.

Halloween is the day before all saints day, which is a chirstian holiday. Its supposedly when all the evil(you know, ghosts witches that stuff) comes out... not sure totally.

Valentine's day is in honor of saint valentine... how is that not religous?

chirstmas... well duh thats religous.

but from what I understand, some pope awhile back did take pagan holidays and turn them into chirstain holidays to try and generate a greater appeal to pagans. Thus many of the christian holidays people celebrate now do have some roots in pagan holidays.

Although it is nice learning about all this origins-of-holidays stuff, I'd just like to nudge you guys to get back on topic. :P

Well, now that Easter's all past, I doubt we'll be seeing one of those sidebars. Who knows though, maybe a spring one'll pop up after North American Daylight Saving Time.

Ok. This thread has been brought to my attention by another member.
You guys should have known better than:

1) Deviate from the intent of the post
2) Involve (quite lengthily) about religious topics.

I don't need to tap teh rules forum do I?
Anyway... JUST TO REITERATE... keep on topic or it'll get locked without a second thought.
