Was reading the NT last night... came across this:

http://neopets.com/ntimes/index.phtml?s ... &issue=183

The idea for that comic is a direct ripoff from Garfield. Can the author of that comic be frozen for this? o.0

People stealing jokes for comins and putting them in the Neopian Times have had the comics removed and been frozen, I've seen it happen before.

Sounds like the Seinfeld episode I just saw. Elaine makes a comic for the New Yorker ... a pig standing at a complaint department window saying "I wish I was taller"

Ends up, it was also a Ziggy cartoon as well ... and her boss was a big Ziggy fan. :)

Not that this answers your question at all .... but still pretty weird.

If the hot dog were a potato instead, all it would need was for the waitress to be named Irma, huh?

I hope the comic gets deleted if nothing else.

I remember that thread -- I'm pretty sure the comic was removed, & I think the submittor was dealt with.

OMG I have the book that the comic was published in. It's from "Garfield Gains Weight," that really smurf me off and I reported them. I like Garfield

I don't get what the big fuss is. It was all hand drawn, all hand done. Nothing was copied as such.

There are so many comic ideas out there and so many comics in circulation that I'm positive a good number of the comics in the NT will have some people thinking 'I know I've seen that before'

There was one a little while ago DIRECTLY stolen from Calvin and Hobbes. I was so mad. I'll try to find it again.

The punch line, the exact same text, and the comic format were all stolen. That's like saying I could copy Harry Potter and re-sell it as long as I change his name to "Larry".

Except Neopets, Inc., not you would be sued. Everything submitted to Neopets becomes their property.

Location: It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a Grue.
If someone could provide a link to an image of the original comic to Ms. Snowflake, it would be very helpful. I can drop a PM to her too, although I'm guessing she won't get it 'til Monday.
