I noticed something!

I have been going to the Wishing Well for the past two days...
I have been asking for a Money Tree and I put in 20 neopoints.
I like to look at peoples shop.. so I clicked the winners name that got something from the Wishing Well.... and to my surprise most of them are newbies... that just start either yesterday or a couple weeks ago...
maybe 1/3 were players that have been here for a while!

I don't think thats very right... but then in a way it is....

Whenever you see only newer members winning it's porbably because they occupy the greatest amount of people playing whatever contest. It's important to remember that an experienced player wont bet their hard earned cash on something which has such a low chance of giving any return. Naturally, newer members are ignorant of how the game works, so they play these types of things much more often than an experienced player would, in turn, they're more likely to win.

It's the same thing with the lottery.

Agree totally. When i was young and first started out Neopets, i actually take the Wishing Well as part of my usual places to go. Everytime i go i will "donate" 1np. Haha. Wishing for of course a Cool Negg. (at that time cool neggs were worth millions) Then i will change the URL endings to 9million plus donated to make myself happy. Haha. Did not win any of the times though.

I never go to the wishing well, but I did notice one time that any money you donate to the wishing well ends up at the Money tree as a donation someone can grab...yeah up might get a prize from the well, but mostly your just shuffling around NP's for Neo...you know how much they like to do that...

I did the exact same thing when I was new. 5 nps went into the well every day. I have since learned that I am more likely to get hit by virtual lightning than win anything from the wishing well.

Yep I as well used to go to the wishing well and donate when I was a newbie, 4 years some odd days ago. Never got anything though, you must be extremely lucky to get something from it, same with the lottery. I've won so many tickets for the lottery *mostly from dice-a-roo* but I've never won.

Ha h! Nice to know I wasn't the only "newbie" to do this! I just kept thinking surely I'll get SOMETHING! Yeah right!!! And the moon is made of cheese, and the world is flat..... :roflol:

I'd actually donate 500 thinking that the more donated, the more of a chance of winning. This was 5 years ago, when 500 was a LOT, IIRC.
