I tried to post a message on the NeoBoards, and got this:

Oooh! That is new! And very nice.

Personally I'd prefer if they wuold just TELL you what is triggering the inappropriate message, but I suppose this is the next best thing.

I was wondering when they'd add something like that to the neoboards.
I think it's already being used someplace on the site ...neomail perhaps?

It used to, at least in guilds. We called it the Brown Meerca of Doom. xD

It showed a picture of an angry brown meerca, and then repeated the same old blather about not posting profanity or using iframes in posts. Then a little farther down it would tell you what the filter had blocked. I haven't seen that page in a long time.

Yeah it's used on guilds, I get it every now and them, it's not the greatest filter, i once wrote a sentance with talking about a Pen and happend to say something along the line of: The pen is really great, it writes the best i've ever seen"

and they blocked it for a bad word...took me FOREVER to figure out the "bad" word lol....

Would've taken forever for me too. I just noticed the bad word. When I was actually ALLOWED TO WRITE ON MY PETPAGE (Sorry about the yelling), the same thing happened to me. I put in a code for a link, and got the page. I still don't know what the curse is to this day. (I lost the URL, that's probably why. )

See. that's silly. It should say:

You erote "pen is" please change. If you feel that this is incorrect, please report.

Having us hunt around to find the problem is just plain poopy in my mind.

Oh I got one of those blocked bad word things once in my guild. A bunch of us were chatting, I had to step away so I wrote "I'll be back in a bit, ok?" And got the scary page. I had NO idea what on earth could be bad. I had to sit and stare at it. Some of the filters need their "thoughts" washed out with soap!

It's also ridiculous in my mind that every "www" is replaced with "-link blocked-". If someone says "Awww" or "Ewww!" their message is replaced with this odd-looking "a-link blocked-" garbage.

Is that true?? That is pretty wierd...

i thought at one stage at the guilds at least they changed it so you did get told what you were doing wrong, it would be nice if it happened everywhere, i spend ages trying to figure out what is so bad, and always end up re-writing the whole message

Anymore if I write a really long message in my guild I always copy it before sending, because Neo never lets you have your text back...very annoying.

But I think I'll take a bit of Annoying to save myself from a bunch of fowl language.

That, however, can be gotten around by only useing two W's.

Ya'know, "Aww" or even the popular "Awe.."
