For those topics one could describe as the forum equivalent of a twinkie. Word games, forum contests and giveaways are all the rage here.

To make it clear to everyone (Since I didn't before) the main text 'Paint' refers to two different things. One, that I made the set with MS Paint, which shows that it is possible to make graphics (albiet amature) using only Paint. The second thing is the fact that green flowers don't exist in nature, and they would have to be painted in order to acheive that color.

And my 'Just Imagine' is supposed to imply you should imagine a world with flowers that are painted like that. Also, it is supposed to imply that you should use your imagination to paint. :)

The above is a prime example of why I don't think contestants signatures should be allowed to feature in this competition, regardless of judges ratings.

I might have to drop out. I've been having bad problems being imaginative, and this is really hurting me. I'm sorry. :(

Does not mean you *are* dropping out or might drop out in the future?

I AM dropping out. Sorry about that.

Oh, trust me, I don't care how other people interpreted it. I never plan on using the sig myself, and my personal opinion is that the judges are the ones who should choose what fits, and not me myself. That's the main reason why I didn't tell anyone what my thought process was before the sigs were to be judged, because I wanted them to interpret it in their own way, rather than going by my judgement. What I'm mainly saying above is what inspired my OWN subtext, rather than what everyone else should have gone by.

No green flowers eh ?? I'll have you know that when hydrangeas antique, several of them turn green. Last time i checked, you don't need paint to let Hydrangeas antique naturally

Anways, I focused on the MS Paint aspect (being simple) and water lillies (being divine)...see how I got mine ?? :P

Hehe, you should've chosen a more wacky color... like...
...
*Ponders*
...
Grey? Are there Black Flowers? I think I've seen deep purple, but not black...

*lights fire to a few flowers*

Let's see what colour their ashes are...

Well, that's referring to something I had quite seriously never heard of. (And yes, I actually Googled it to learn about it) I suppose, then, I could say that water lillies are not naturally green, and would therefore have to be painted. :P

You don't have to vote for DM, as she's already dropped out anyway. You can though, if you want.

Judges Notes: Wow, great round guys. This was a tough signature, and you all made some really good subtexts. Even if I sounded like I didn’t like the subtext, it was still very good! It was really hard to choose four to eliminate, especially this late in the competition!

Twizzler0171
---Lillies of Color
Okay. Yes, the flowers are colored, but not colorful if you get what I mean. I think this would probably fit better if the flowers were rainbow, or consisted of more color.

Amarise---Just imagine
Just Imagine, just imagine, just imagine all the things that we, can be…o.k. enough Barney songs from me. I like this subtext, but I’m not positive if it is right for this signature.

Watericesage---Standout Lillies
This fits the signature, yes, but it doesn’t have a ‘ring’ to it. It just seems too bland. Sorry :(

Ledi
---A pallet of wonders
Love it! Fits perfect! Good work!

Maniac
---Painting Nature
Nice. You fit everything about the signature into two words. Very good job!

Twinkle
---Floating on a sea of petals.
Its not bad, but it just doesn’t have any Pazazz! You had a good idea, but you could have made it better.

Hellyer---Creative Perspective
I like this. It is really nice, and adds a new feeling to the signature.

The_dog_god--- Simply Divine
Sorry, but I don’t think it fits the signature at all. To me, the signature isn’t really simple or divine

Judge's Notes: I was disappointed yet proud of this round. Some of you were very off while others were right on the dot. A very complex sort of subtexts.

Twizzler0171
"Lillies of Color"

This makes sense although I don't think those flowers are lillies. But good subtext none the less.

Amarise
"Just Imagine"

First off, I don't think it's fair that a contestant can make a set and then make a subtext for it as well. It gives them an advantage.

Now for the subtext, it's borderline. It's not good and it's not horrible. I'm not sure about this one, it's just, who would imagine flowers painted like that?

Watericesage
"Standout Lillies"

Considering two people have used lillies, I assume the flowers are lillies. The subtext makes sense and relates directly to the image. But as xjox said, something sounds wrong.

Ledi
"A pallet of wonders"

I love this one. My favorite so far. You clearly matched the theme of these set with your subtext. Good job.

Maniac
"Painting Nature"

This subtext makes sense. It really relates to the image.

Twinkle
"Floating on a sea of petals"

This subtext was to me like "Petals? Where?" and than I realised in the back, there was petals. I may be slow but this subtext really relates to the image which really shouldn't be focused on.

Hellyer
"Creative Perspective"

I like this one a lot. The main reason I like this one so much is because the subtext was created in a complex perspective. I don't agree with xjox saying it's too complicated, it fits perfectly.

The_dog_god
"Simply Divine"

I don't liket this one at all. What's so divine about ugly lillies? There is nothing I can pick out in this picture which will match your subtext.

---

I choose to eliminate The_dog_god, Amarise, Twinkle and Twizzler0171.

Thu Mar 10, 2005 9:11 pm

They are, in fact, Water Lillies. :)

Twizzler0171 wrote:They are, in fact, Water Lillies. :)

Ah, thank you.

Thu Mar 10, 2005 10:52 pm

Yes, they are water lillies, as posted on the previous page.

And, clearly, I would imagine flowers painted like that, as I'm the one who made the set.

Lastly, I wasn't sure if I should participate or not. Not being told one way or the other, I chose to simply enter a subtext.

Oh, and a slight revisement of my above statement. 'Just imagine' is supposed to be imperative, as in 'Just use your imagination.'

Thu Mar 10, 2005 10:59 pm

Ohh crud! I totally forgot about this and I meant to choose "Lillie Lake"! My first one was utter rubbish. Looks like I'm going out then.
