there is a random event that gives out those war points. they dont actually have a purpose. I fought in the tyrannian war and got 6 points, but only got an army point from a random event.

Yeah. There is a Random Event that is given out in Tyrania.

It gives the user 1 pt. Maybe this person is very active 3 day player who goes Tyrania so often that he got the Event 6 times or something. It is possible.
