I think their cute - I'd be satisifed to look at this gallery! PM me your username, I wanna drool!

I find no issue with people hording them, especially rare items, it makes the person feel GOOD and lets people know you work HARD.

as long as they're still being stocked, no one can have ALL of them.

Google image search.

Hurrah for most things!

The only thing I see wrong with your collection of Gallions is that youre storing them in the TP... Isnt there a TP rule or something that says you cant use it as display and storage?

8bit, you took the words right out of my mouth. I can't stand it when people use the TP to display their collections, especially after TNT instated the new rule forbidding that exact action. It clogs up the TP with useless lots and makes it really frustrating when you're actually looking to buy the item. If you want a safe place to keep your collection and you don't want to stick it in your gallery, put it in your SDB. That's what it's FOR.

Having said that, that girl was way out of line to expect you to give up anything you worked hard for, just because it's "not fair" that you have so many. You're allowed to have as many of anything as you want, that's your business and no one else's. If I were you, I wouldn't have even bothered trying to be reasonable with her, I'd have told her to bugger off instantly. ^^;;

Hakuryu, completely yours. If you worked hard for them, then it's completyely yours. I understand where your neomailer is coming from, but it's easily explained. If someone wants a gallion, they'll have to work for it like you did.

Hold onto your seats people... the SL is back.

It's the same as his forum name. :) I just checked them out myself (weren't they on the screenies page once?), too cute. ;)

If she wanted a gallion she could just restock one... I'v seen the plenty of times at the shop, i'm just too slow to get them.
And I don't see how you selling them will make it any cheaper for her, so I think she was rude.

You work for them, you earn the NP needed for them, you have the right to do what you wish with them.

Oiii, some of those people in Neopia need a swift kick up the tail end >_<;;

"What i am less impressed with are players who ask for voluntary donations to their "collection"."

Agreed, Mystique!

The "Can you give me your Sweet Heart Negg? It's for my collection...pretty pleeeeeeease?!" line is wearing very thin with me whenever I reopen my Neomails during the days when I'm haggling for stuff on the TP with non-neofriends.

What a rude little <insert nasty name here>...

While I agree that you are entitled to have what you like, and that I think you are in the right here, I would like to add that it annoys me aswell when people store things in the TP. It's like their showing off their collections, which is unfair because that's not what the TP is for.

Secondly, if they were retired, and you were collecting them, I think that would be a little unfair, because your taking the chance away from people who really want one.

Well it's just jealousy imo that the girl is neomailing you. There's nothing wrong with saving a collection. Although it may annoy some people with the saving and then getting frozen, but as long as you gain the items through legitimate means, then I see nothing wrong with it at all... And anyway, what right does she have to criticize you?

I wouldn't worry about it. I've gotten a couple of neomails like that before, and I just ignored them and deleted them. People usually give up quickly if they don't get a response ;)

Well, they technically are for trade... If my friend can get a air faerie crown for one, i'll try my luck too :)
I don't think I'm clogging up trades since most of my gallions are painted and so there's basically less than 10 trades up there with painted gallions. The normal gallions I take up 2 out of 18, so I don't think I'm doing too much damage there as well...
But on to the case of retirement, is it really that bad to collect retired items people want? I still find no wrong in doing that...

Gallion Count: 55/100 Ukali Count: 30/100 Now That's A Long Long way off...

even so, to stop this kinda thing, maybe it would be better to put them in your sdb? since while technically they are up for trade, technically they aren't as well because they are a collection you do want to keep. and they are also very nice, :)

If you see my sanity, get it to give me a call.

I think it is unfair to hoard retired items, how would you feel if you really wanted an item, couldn't find one for sale anywhere, and someone was showing off loads on the TP?

I'm not trying to start a row though lol! There are far more important things to worry about than this!

Don't worry about it. I get so many neomails about my paint brush collection... Why do I have so many? Did I cheat to get them? I'm hogging them all (when I only have 1 of each, except for Christmas and Yellow) ;)

I can see the person's point to a degree...I didn't see anything that looked like begging or the usual illiteracy one would expect from random neomails from strangers. But blocking you for your civil, reasonable responses was rude. :x

I think its great that you're obviously enjoying your collection. Being an Anne McCaffrey fan, I know where some of your gallion's names come from :D But it does bug me when people clog up the trading post for any reason - isn't the stuff safer in your SBD anyway? There are already too many people whose sole enjoyment seems to come from gloating & showing off - you know the type: 10 rare morphing potions in the lot and the wish list says "you wish - hahaha!" Especially since these types are likely to get frozen for being jerks in the neoboards, given their tendency to enjoy goading others. Then, they really waste the items since even they aren't getting any good out of them anymore.

What would Honor do?
