Gemma58: the first set is very simple and could use a border that actually works as a border xD (this one has the same darkness as your picture) some effects could be nice too, just keep experimenting with it

the second set is better in some ways, like for the placing of the border, but i think the colour of text and border might be a little bit less 'glow-in-the-dark'-ish

(any ratings for my set are always accepted :P )

I think this is the right place but anyway I would appreciate some feedback on my newly "redesgined" userlookup...

Yoshi edit: This is the right place, but please read the rules of the thread before asking for ratings.
Quote:
Ratings Board Rules:

1. Keep your criticism constructive.
2. You must give/get ratings at a ratio of at least 1:1, that means for every graphic you ask for ratings on, you must rate at least one other. And I mean a meaningful, well-thought out rating, not just a number or "that's good."
New Addition: These numbers do not stack up. If you rated two sets and asked for one rating, you cannot make a post later asking for one free rating because you rated earlier.
And be good about your ratings, if I see continue to see many ratings that simply say "that's good" in many words, I will raise the ratio to 3:1.

3. You may not ask for ratings on work that you did not make.

Well I am using Firefox, and this is what I see. The banner is way out of place, it is too low, and too to the left. The sidebar looks kind of out of place with two parts taken out, but 1 part left...it just doesn't look right. I like the tables, the textured background looks good. The banner itself is nice, and I like the background alot!

Jens: I like your set! I particularily like the original background you've made. The blocks are better in the signature than in the av, in my opinion - but still looks good! :) I think the font you've used for the main text is good and goes with the overall look of the set. One thing you could have done better is come up with a better sub-text... maybe a quote from the film/books? But thats the only thing I think ... and I actually like the text you've used as it is! :P

Anyway ... I just made this desktop background - it's the first one I've ever done. Its 800x600 with icons on the left. What do you think?

EDIT: Darn - it got resized ... stupid photobucket ¬_¬
But you can basicaly get what its like...

I love the bubbles ^^ They're so cute :D However, maybe the colour selection isn't my type :P but I don't think the bright yellow goes with the dark blue. Personally I would use either a lighter blue or purple. :) This is only for the wallpaper because the set you used this image in blends in very well even though it's yellow on blue. I haven't quite made out why though :P

Haven't been here for quite a while :P Could anyone rate my current set, pretty please? :battar:

_jaye_: Hmm, pretty nice. There's just a few text issues- in your main text, I like the texture you put in (very unique!), but the placement and size of it seems to make it clash with the hand in the sig. You might also want to move your small texts away from the corner a pixel or two and make 'em a little more visible.

maniac: Ooh, spiffy! The bright yellow bubbles are great, they draw good attention and work well with the background. However, like Jaye, I'm not so fond of the colour selection, but only particularly the greyish yellow colour in the back bubbles. I can only presume that you turned down the opacity on those, but perhaps you should change its colour altogether to something a tad brighter. Maybe a light blue (faded) or a white.
<hr>
Anyway, while I'm at it, I'd like a few ratings on my new set. I'm not nearly as fond of it as the blue "refresh" one, but eh, it's some obsession of mine to have to change sets every month. Again, this is all drawn, minus the text in the av.

Wow, so I haven't made or rated an actual set in about, oh, six months. =p Since I am hardcore procrastinating, why not give it a shot?

DM: I really like the background on that set. However, you might want to up the quality of it; it appears a little pixellated to me. Also, the subtext seems to just be slapped on there, it doesn't really blend with the image. What I would recommend would be to fade it slightly.

Maniac: I like the simplicity of the set. However, I don't like the color of the font used - again, it is really out of place with the rest of the colors of the set. Try using a darker blue, or perhaps a color matching the lighter bubbles. It would look spiffy then. :)

HyperButterfly: Wow, I just started at the bottom of the review, not realizing how old the posts were...oh well. =p It's a cute Valentine's set; however, the added images in the sig look a little blurry. Also, the blue text doesn't really match the nice background, nor does the peach color. You can also see a bit of white around the roses and the box.

Gemma: The text looks really weird on the dolphin set, but I like the background. It looks a little pixellated though; try saving with a little higher quality. The border is really blah too, try having it around it, rather than through the image.

As for the one with the moon in the background, I also like that background, but the text looks odd in this one as well. Pink doesn't match, and you can't really see the Pr in the sig. This set also should be saved at a higher quality. It's a good start, though. The border is more effective in this set.

Maniac: I see this is from the set I previously rated. =p It's pretty cute, but the gray bubbles don't really fit it. I like the lighter ones, but that's been said plenty of times already now. It's nice!

Jaye: Pretty set! I have the same sentiments as Yoshi though; the textured text is cool looking, but something doesn't fit. It looks out of place with the airier feel of the rest of the set (faded, calmer colors). Also, I think the random line of added contrast on the av (on the far left, right next to the border) is a little strange, considering none of the other sides have it on either the av or the sig. I really like this set though, it's a pretty picture. :)

Yoshi: It's funny, because the text in the av (the only thing you didn't draw) is the thing that bugs me the most. =p It looks like it's too small for the font, if you know what I mean...? Probably not, since I'm crazy. The lighter side of the sig is pretty plain too. However, you did a fine job drawing it.

Off topic: Before I continue, I have to tell everyone to listen to The Sea and Cake right now. Soooooooo awesome.

Anyway, so here's the first graphic I have really spent time on in six months. Every other set I've made took five minutes or less. I'd love ratings, if you have them. This is actually the first set I've made for myself with a person in it...but it's worth it, since Rufus Wainwright is freaking awesome. =p It was weird though, I couldn't get them the same contrast for the life of me, even though I have the exact same layer settings for each of them.

Edit: I figured out what was causing them to be stupid, and now they're the same contrast! Yay!

how about my screenies under baby_peters thanks :D

Yoshi edit: I'm afraid this is the wrong place. The Ratings thread is for rating graphics. If you'd like to post screenies relating to Neopets, please proceed to the Screenies thread in General Chat.

ZH! - I like how you've made the set interesting by rotating the original image, but i dont like how her face is cut off. I can't really work out what the subtext is supposed to be saying along the bottom. And the av is paler than the sig for some reason.

Yoshi - the text on the ax is a little small, and coz its so straight it doesnt quite look right next to the curved back of the bird. i think it's great how you've managed to leave the "empty space" right of the sig (i know there's stuff there, you know what i mean) without making it look lop sided or boring. The only other thing thats bugging me slightly is that the bird is brown in the av, but just blue in the sig.

Jaye - You've managed to have a lot going on in your sig without it being too overwhelming. You've done a good job of the blending, but it looks a bit busy by the top of her head. I also really like the texture you've done on your name.

Can someone please rate the guild layout i've done? it is here.
I would love opinions on the colours of the page (background, scroll bar) and the actual images.
thanks! :)

ZH - It is a little bit plain and the text is hard to read.... I wouldn't really use that font on a set.... 5/10
Yoshi - Plainness but still it looks nice. I really like the background! Great use of image. 8/10
Jaye - I wanted to comment you on that set ever since I saw you using it! It is super awesome! No one can make a better set with that image! I want your skills! 10/10
Maniac - It is cool, I like the glow around the bubblish things. It is sorta plain but backgrounds don't need to be amazing, mine is just a cat and a dog. 7/10
Can anyone rate these 2 sets?

Adam, set one: Your set is overbordered. I used my image preview and you could've erased the middle in the Os, then you wouldn't have had as much as a problem. Another thing: black borders are REALLY boring, and trust me, you aren't boring. I love the font...what is it?

Adam, set two: I think there's 2 Gs in Dogglefox, but I'm not sure. I really like it, but how did you do the pixel dots? If you did them by hand, I feel sorry for you. Really good set, but again, the black border. There's some empty space too, however, but nothing you can do about it. :(

ZH: The subtext blends in too well, I can't read it too good. But, I'm needing glasses so that could be a problem too. I also don't like the way the face is cut off. And the contrast between the av and the sig is annoying.

I made a Ichigo set the other day that I would like rated, please?

The middle in the o's?
Anyways, it is Doglefox, says so on my adorable Doglefox plushies and on neopets!
Everytime I do a different border colour, it looks like crap and blends in alot or sticks out too much.
I can't do any transparencey at all.
The dots, I made them a pattern on adobe and used the fill in tool on a new layer.
Under the image but above the background.
DM- That set is good.
I have no clue how you deleted the background so good. PNGs and Transparentness only show up on firefox though.
That may be a problem for IE users.
It really sucks about that, but it's true.
The text border on the sig blends in. I have to stare alot to see the sub text.
Oh, the font I used is GoodDog.

DM: Hm. I can see where you're trying to go with the girl's head sticking over the border of the set, but because you're still cutting off part of her head, and because there's gray behind it, it just looks messy. On the sig you could probably get away with it if you just made the top part transparent, but on the av I'd suggest you make the BG fill the whole frame, and add a border to the whole thing as well. Besides the framing, it's alright - the colors are nice. The fonts look pretty good, although the main text is a little too big on the signature, and way too big on the av.

I'd rate more but I'm in the middle of procrastinating on a project, sorry. >_<

Anyhow...can I get a rating on this set? It's a lot different than my usual style, but despite how it may appear, it took a lot of work - it's composited from 3 different images, and I drew in most of the sky myself. I'm still trying to decide whether the text on the side adds to the set or is overkill (and if you're on subBlack it'll look kind of awful, sorry)
