Just wondering, Qanda, since the immunity challenge ended quite some time ago, when do we get to know the results? :battar:

Wed Feb 16, 2005 7:15 am

I was waiting for the elimination challenge to end so that I could post them all together. ;)

Results of Survivor Activity Second Chance

Qanda enters. "By popular vote, hellyer has been chosen to re-enter the game. However, there is bad news (though most of you will find it good news ). Ziggy will have to go because he failed to send in his vote on time.

Hellyer has re-entered the game. Ziggy is eliminated.

Results of Elimination Challenge

NOTE: From here onwards, every person eliminated from the game will be added to the tribal jury. They will decide who is the winner when the game boils down to the last two people.

Valentine's day is over... and the only person left without a partner is Yesitish. He chose Matt, but unfortunately Matt chose to go with Twizzler0171.

Yesitish has been eliminated. However, he is added to the tribal jury.

Results of Immunity Challenge

Apparently not of you were interested in Academics... the only two people who really attempted the questions were amarise and xjox. Matt's answer of 4.56 to all the questions doesn't count, nor does jellyoflight's answer which came in hours too late.

It was a close fight between xjox and amarise, but due to Question 6 xjox emerges as the winner of Immunity!

I won't bother posting the answers to Questions 1 to 3 since none of you really attempted it. :P

Question 5 Answer

All sentences are incorrect.

The entire army was completely decimated by a nuclear bomb.

Decimated originally referred to killing one person in every ten. Now it can also be used to mean destroying a large part of a group; however it cannot be used to mean completely destroying something. Obliterate would be a better word here, and the "completely" is not needed.
This invention is considerably more unique than the others submitted at the Science Fair.

Unique means one in a kind; therefore there is no such thing as something being "more unique" than the other.
Irregardless of what you say, I will never trust you again.

Irregardless is a word that many mistakenly believe to be correct usage in formal style, when in fact it is used chiefly in nonstandard speech or casual writing. The correct word should be "regardless".
We were astounded by the enormity of the blue whale.

Contrary to what many think, enormity actually means excessive wickedness or outrageousness. When referring to physical size the correct term is "enormousness".
Even though his attentions towards her were spurned, he remained nonplussed.

"Nonplussed" means "filled with bewilderment". Its usage here does not fit the meaning of the sentence.

Question 6 Answer
In literary terms, a tragic hero refers to a literary character who makes an error of judgment or has a fatal flaw that, combined with fate and external forces, brings on a tragedy.

Therefore, contrary to popular belief, a character that dies a tragic death while trying to perform a noble or heroic deed does not make him a tragic hero.

I will not provide the answers for Question 4, 7 and 8 too since those who attempted it got them basically correct (and because I'm lazy :P).

Voting starts now.

Voting guidelines

1) You have 24 hours to submit your votes. You cannot vote for xjox who won immunity.
2) Vote for one person in the tribe. In your PM title just write "Survivor - vote (name of person you are voting for)". Follow the same format for the content as last time.
3) People voted out will become a member of the jury.

Ziggy?? I thought you had voted? :(

I won immunity? :o Guess my love of shakespeare finally paid off for something huh? :D

Welcome back Hellyer

Wed Feb 16, 2005 8:24 am

WOOHOO!! I'd just like to say a big thanks to everyone who voted for me to come back, I was really gutted after leaving for a small mistake of my own so it's a great feeling to have a second chance.

Ziggy, I really am sorry you had to go, especially because I know how it feels to go because you didn't vote.

Qanda: Do I still vote even though I only entered now? It would feel wrong because I don't really have the right to vote for anyone I think. But I'm guessing I do have to vote. And don't think I will be leaving this time round due to forgetting to vote  .

Welcome back, and yes, you do have to vote. :)

Tch :P I only attempted the english ones anyway.

But shouldn't the blue whale part be "Blue Whale" since it's a species and a proper noun or w/e?

Wed Feb 16, 2005 4:36 pm

I've decided I will not be a part of this game any longer. If anyone just has to know why, feel free to contact me. I want everyone to vote me out of the game for this tribal council. I'm not walking out simply because I want it to be fair to everyone who wants to stay. All I will say is, I have never lied any time during this entire game. I'm sorry to the people who did not believe me.

Wed Feb 16, 2005 8:08 pm

A PM has been sent to Qanda. I know I sent in my entry on time; it was before anyone had posted in response to the challenge.

Wed Feb 16, 2005 8:23 pm

I'm grounded until next Monday. Sneaking on. :P

Thu Feb 17, 2005 6:59 am

The rain pours down heavily on a dismal and overcast day. Qanda enters, a grave look on his face. "I have two issues here."

1) I'll be giving Ziggy the benefit of doubt and let him re-enter the game. Ziggy is now back in.

2) Due to her request, amarise has left the game. Therefore, today's tribal council is cancelled. You may return to your tribes.

Amarise picks up what scanty luggage she has and leaves with Qanda.

(BTW amarise, you are allowed to post and say any final words you have, such as advice to the rest of the players or reasons on why you chose this route.)

Does that mean that we have to vote again for someone else or that there will be a new challenge up soon?

ooh missed that bit, Welcome back ziggy! Told ya so :P

Reward Challenge - Double or Nothing

 Are you up for a gamble? If you win this challenge, the prize money will be doubled for you. That's 300k for o_0 and Blk Mage and 200k for the rest. But if you lose... you will get absolutely nothing even if you win the game.

However, you have the right of choice. It's up to you whether or not you want to risk it. I have already thought of the challenge and it may either be laughably easy, insanely difficult or just in between.

You have 24 hours to PM me your decision. If you fail to PM me I will take it that you are not up to the challenge. I will only post the challenge once the 24 hours are up. ;)

IMPORTANT: Do not tell anyone what is your choice.

Immunity Challenge - Poetic justice

Today's Immunity Challenge is short and simple. Write a poem based on the theme of "Justice". Your poem need not be based on Neopets. There is absolutely no word limit.

You have 48 hours to complete this challenge. Please PM your entries individually to me. The best poem wins immunity.

IMPORTANT: Do not show anyone the poem you submit to me.

New guidelines for PMs:

Just so to eliminate the possibility of me accidentally deleting your PM (my PM box gets rather full sometimes), in the future please state clearly in the titles of all your game-related PMs to me what it is about.

For example, if you are sending in a PM for this current reward challenge, include the phrase "Reward Challenge - Double or Nothing" in it. For the immunity challenge, state "Immunity Challenge - Poetic Justice". For voting, adhere to the format stipulated.

This is for your own good, so that I won't unknowingly delete one of your PMs. Thank you. :)

Nope, I've said everything I wanted to say. I went as far as I was willing to.

Thu Feb 17, 2005 8:22 pm

Well, what can I say? I am incessantly happy that I was allowed back in, but in the same respect I am sad to see amarise go. I know that Superstes can get through this, we're a strong tribe!

Now, to think about the reward, and do the immunity . . .
