Can somebody please point me to where in the policy it says they cant put ads on the bottom for different languages? (Just for curiosity sake) :)

It doesn't to my knowledge. It is simply a matter of practicality and money.

Practicality: They would have to find sponsors in France to put French ads up. An ad is an image at it's root, so it isn't a simple matter of entering it into babblefish or something.

Money: The US is the richest most extravegant nation on earth. For proof check out the Hummer, the biggest, most gas guzzling vehicle the world has yet seen on the open market. Americans love that machine because it represents weath. Ad companies know that America is a more lucrative market than abroad (generally).

End result, they could decide that France should have this advertising too and then you have to learn Thai to avoid the ads.

oh uggh....count me as one of those americans that hates the hummer. how sad that a beastly machine like that has found popularity :P

My mistake about the America thing.

But I still stand on the arguement because most English speaking nations are weathy in comparison to much of the world.

I'm finally back for the summer, although hopefully I'll spend a little more time away from this screen.

The top banner WAS enough. The execs are just being greedy at this point.

Perhaps instead of just ranting we should think about some suggestions we could send to them on alternatives that would be easier on users and would still appease their love of dirty money?

Have you found anything you need to add to the hosts file yet? I wanna make sure I get 'em ALL on my other accounts :P

I don't need to add my disgust to everyone elses I don't think. I'm terribly sad that the site now looks so cheap - it always looked professional before.

Am *very* seriously reconsidering how much time I spend, (if any at all) on Neo now. I'm just sad :(

I didn't bother using there's. I just modified my own.

The hosts I have blocked (that are ads off of Neopets), thus far:

a.tribalfusion.com, servedby.advertising.com1, http://www.burstnet.com, network.realmedia.com
