Okay yesterday on my userlookup, I added the link to my deviant art page. Uh. Should I take it off? Oh and a while ago, I had a link to my website and I didn't recieve a warning about it. Anyways, it'll be more safe to take off the links right? -__-

Technically, it's not supposed to be against the Terms and Conditions, but of late the site has become so paranoid of scammers and cheaters that unwritten rules seem to just come into effect.

I'd remove the link if I were you. Better to be safe than sorry.

I thought that linking to other sites was against the rules? Guilds got really mad about that because it totally messed up their links and stuff.

I thought that linking off-site webpages were not allowed on shops, but were allowed for guilds and stuff. Then lots of links for guild websites got blocked. This could be another one of those gray areas in the rules. I would probably remove the link just to be on the safe side.

I know of a user who has a link to her site on her lookup, and has never gotten a warning... >.>

I really don't like that. I would much rather have link from the guild main page the a website then post the url.

I have seen people get warnings and/or their lookups cleared for having their email, aim, outside sites listed, so I would definitely take the deviantart url off your lookup.
Outside links aren't allowed, nor is asking for anyone's email, im, aim, etc. I think they're getting to the point of not allowing anyone to post those (email, im stuff) either. I've seen warnings on the boards for people posting their own.
The no-outside clickable link thing was the straw that broke the camel's back re: guilds for me. First no contests, giveaways, motw, motm, etc. Then the enforcement of no outside links (which was actually a rule) - that meant no link to our guild webbie. At the time I was on council. I quit the night they started enforcing the outside clickable link rule. I had no administrative, so could not remove the link, did not want to be frozen for the link still being there, so I wrote both our guild owner and co-owner and Support explaining the situation.
It is, to be honest, for everyone's protection. Too many scammers using outside links to fake log in pages, cookie grabbers, etc., and as far as posting your personal info on a public site ... well that's not a good idea. There are bad people out there.

I wouldn't be bragging too much about that one. Some people never get warnings before they are frozen. I know of three people (two of whom are family members) who never, ever got a warning before the icy ray of death hit them. Those of you who do are really, really lucky. So, best not to press your luck.

i might be a little late here considering I only read the first few posts, but you should take away deviantart right away. Its a little bit of an adult site. It has provocative ads and i saw a REALLY mature pic when I was browsing one time...i'm not a purvert.

Okay, thanks everone.

I took off both links, just in case. ^^

Yikes
I just put a deviant art link in my other account. Good thing I read this. I haven't gotten a warning yet, but I took off the deviant art link in my neohtml just in case.
I can't believe for at least a month I had a deviant link in my main account and my neohtml and all that time was sporting with disaster.

I think it probably depends on what's on the other side of the outside link too. I know some people (Not saying you do) post some things on Deviant art that isn't exactly kid friendly. That could be why...or I could be losing it

Does this mean I'm going to get in trouble for my DeviantART and Borovan.com links? o____0
