Easy enough shown. But eh, I tie my tie by having the wide end on the left, whatever length to please. Cross it over once, under, then back over. Then up underneath, then through ;)

Or go here: http://www.tie-a-tie.net/fourinhand.html

shapu's torso is too short for a four-in-hand (as I have freakishly long legs for a guy my height), so I gotta use the half-windsor.

Random fact: I originally learned to tie that knot for a school formal dance, hoping to impress a girl from my freshman floor. It didn't work, but now that I'm a desk jockey, I suppose I'm still better off for it.

I learnt the four-in-hand, as I, stupidly went in secondary school without the intelligence of knowing how to tie a knot. I managed to go buy a week or so without learning. But (haha) a really pretty young TA (Teacher's Assistant) learnt me to do it in one go. I never forgot after that.

The most common tie knot at my school is the four-in-hand. I hadn't really thought about tie knows suiting certain men before now.

I'm impressed! I love guys that can help me with ties, seeing as I only got to wear them twice a year.

Or you could ask me! I can tie a tie as well. :)

Don't be afraid to see the truth, even if no one wants you to. Be yourself and not a fool. Don't ever be afraid to speak your mind and listen to criticism. Dissent is keeps our country progressive and willingness to challenge yourself is what keeps yourself ever evolving.

Judging length is easy. Just put the wide end on the right and down to the top of your kneecap, start the knot between the first and second buttons on your shirt from the top (not counting collar), and tie a half-windsor.

Viola. Perfect length every time.

My tie's a couple of inches shorter that a lad's tie ;)

And that website link is a really complicated way of explaining how to tie a half windsor! Not that I could do better..

I had to tie a tie properly since the age of five. (although, I probably got help until I could do it on my own)
But then the school quit the tie thing and we have open neck shirts now.

That's an adorable ferret, meowth. :) What's it's name and gender?

My sister had a ferret. She had to give it to friends, though, since she moved to California. She couldn't take Rikki with them because ferrets are considered wild animals there. :(
