You play normal, then you go to evil, and then insane. I don't know what you mean by do you always start on normal though. Although if you complete normal and evil, but dont want to do insane, you can always play normal or evil again.

By that do you start the game in Normal or Easy(I don't know if that exists or not)

Your first game you play will always be on Normal. Once you beat normal, you unlock the Evil level and then can either start the game in normal again or move on to evil. Beating Evil unlocks Insane.

If it werent, there'll be tons of those UBER rare items over the TP, and they would de-value. If you've played Evil, InSaNe is 10 times harder than that!

I don't think it's really all that harder fighting wise. Since you have played through normal and insane you know what to expect from the monsters and bosses and can plan accordingly. However, it takes longer to level up, the monsters/bosses have more hp, and if you make a mistake and die--Welp, you are right back at start...level one, no exp, no skills, nothing.

On InSaNe mode, yes. On Normal and Evil! you just go back to the last "resting place" and lose exp (NQI) or gold (NQ II).

Why is there such a huge price difference in INsane (Wand of Reality (4.5mil) and Staff of Righteous Fury (850k)) Is the prize random or do you have to choose it?

The prizes are battledome weapons. The Wand does more damage than the Staff, so it is worth more. The prize you recieve is of course random...who would pick the 850K prize over the others? :roflol:

It's speculated that the prizes are just random. I went through Evil pretty quick, didn't die once. I only had one or two times when a party member even died. Won a Tooth. Then there was the time I casually played it on Evil. Took a few weeks, lots of setbacks like all my party members dying. I won a Scuzzys Comb. So if there is a scaling system, it's not dependent on how well you played.

The difference between the two good Insane prizes and the okay Insane prizes is this: battledome effectiveness. In the Battledome, the Staff of Righteous Fury and the Sword of Apocalypse both do variable icons - that is, it's random how good of an attack they'll do. Sometimes you'll get lucky and do a bunch of damage, and other times you won't, and they won't be so good. Bow of Destiny and Wand of Reality both do constant icons; no randomness. This makes them far superior weapons.
