Neopets has, as you know, been around since 1999. Since then, the site has gone through innumerable changes and additions, as well as attracting millions of players (and advertising companies). Some of these changes and additions have been good, and many have been bad. But one thing is for certain: The site will never stay the same.
Consider the following, reflected by both facts and majority opinion:
Recent Pros:
- New scratchcard Kiosk
- Site functioning excellently despite occasional laggy days
- The plot is over
- Decreasing New Member (bah, those filters) levels
- Dying chain letters
- A constant influx of new items
- New, good, and easy-to-get avatars
- New pet coming soon, currently name the "Mok" (though subject to change)
- Heavy Codestone Deflation
- Introduction of several new daily games with good prices/prizes
- "Lock Topic" Feature (Though it's underused)
- Changes in Shop Stock
- The Random Contest
- EDIT'D! Suspending Accounts
- TNT A splode! Avatar
- No high-rarity items for 2 months - Cuts down on autobuyers (for two months; they'd just make a crapload of accounts)
Recent Cons:
- HUGE Banner Ads
- Heavy inflation
- Lousy War Prizes
- Bad Plot
- Large amount of unjustified freezings
- Lag
- Mediocre Advent Calendar Prizes
- Random Thieves Winning Random Contest
- EDIT'D! Suspending Accounts
- ALSO EDIT'D! TNT's obsession with (Mostly? Generally? Really? Omgwtfbbq?) crappy merchandise
- ALSO ALSO EDIT'D! The Terms and Conditions still lack clarity. This ties in with the vast amount of people who get frozen unfairly, and there are so many gray areas it makes your head a splode (And that avatar still isn't released
).
- Also also also edit'd! (This is the third, so it doesn't get caps
) no high-rarity items for 2 months (Cuts down on people being able to make really good and relatively easy cash as a newbie; discourages unfairly-frozen users)
So, what direction do you think the site's headed in?
