There are so many awesome ones here, I'm surprised none of them placed higher (or at all) in the contest

I guess the important thing is that we appreciate how awesome they are...

I entered...but didn't win- Next contest: neo origami? this looks hard

Didn't win, but I didn't expect to because TNT wouldn't like us complaining too much.

The ones that won are good, but looking at the ones we have collected here, I think some or most are better. Just an opinion. I hope others have won in that third place category, as I sure didn't unless they send you a neomail that takes a few hours or days to reach you.

im dissappointed in many of the ones that one... i saw MANY on here that were better than the winners there.

I didn't win anything either

But....I checked the 1st place winners and they haven't gotten the trophies yet, so there might be a chance some of us are at the bottom 100.

I know I'm biased, but I really thought many of the avatars you guys made were better than some of the winners. I hope some of you guys got in the bottom 100 anyway...

I totally agree with you Kurisutaru. It seems as if they just picked the first submissions they got. I do like the angelic one though.

Word. I'm really disappointed by the ones that won. They're not half as creative or cool-looking as the ones you all made.

i was 100% expecting to see one from this thread in the top winners! i can't believe it--not a single one! you guys' were MUCH better than the ones who won, and i'm not just saying that cuz i'm a PPTer.

Didn't you know? It's a random contest! Which to TNT means shut your eyes and pick randomly!

Though meowth's answer has some appeal, I suspect skizzy may be right that they didn't look at all the entries -- on the thread on this board noting that one of the featured picks was actually stolen from another user's fake avatar page, it was suggested that TNT may have selected only from the first-arriving entries.

That does, unfortunately, sound possible -- after all, they've said that is what they do for the Caption Contest.

What I find interesting (and also saddenning) is that they are picking fewer top winners as the rounds go on.


ON ANOTHER NOTE, since I don't have a hotlink account set up I'll just tell you about my entry.

50 x 50 white square, with a 2-pixel dark blue border. Not in the middle (higher, and to the left) a single black pixel. Occasionally the word (hiding) flashes up in purple centered near the bottom.

As I've mentioned, a graphic artist I'm not, so I developed an av that would fit what I could do.

What I hoped might get it some notice was my making an av with two distinct ways to get it:

1) Be among the first 250 to guess the Mystery Pic (since that game, unlike LC, doesn't have an av to my knowledge)

or

2) Donate an "Escaped Pixel" to the Money Tree. (Yes, another item to be inflated, and those w/ DSL would again have the advantage in scooping up the donations, but I figured the donating could at least take the edge of the inflationary force.)


Of course, my av didn't hold a candle to several shown here that didn't win, but eh, at least I tried.
