It would be great if Neopia Central had a plot like Terror Mountain does. It would actually be a setting and not just a place on a map. I already sent an idea to the staff. Let's discuss the idea. I'll bet we all could sack the staff with this idea in many differently well-typed ideas until they finally accept it!

ENTRY:

I wonder why there have not been civil conflicts in Neopia Central. It sounds like a good plot idea to me, as the opposition is already there and the civil war will clarify it and perhaps bring it to rest among many dedicated users. This war would be popular, as it already is taking place in many less literal ways.

There is a conflict of interests in Neopia, all caused by the way users have been taking the many features added to Neopets. Avatars cause inflation of items all around. Battledomers face high-connection-rate collectors with their countless raided rare items before they even face opponents in the battledome that actually are less of an enemy. I can relate this to the little Neopets all over Neopia.

There are two types of Neopets that are common. Those who seek riches, and those who seek power. One is vain, the other prideful. Between them are many innocents trying to find their way. It is inevitable to me that civil war is upon us. There are three sides to be on, and a lot of Neopia Central plot holes to fill. I feel it is a good time to focus on Neopia Central, and define it as a land of its own as others have been defined.

New characters would make Neopia Central stand out a little more. They each would help express just what kind of place Neopia Central is and the great variety of Neopets that live there. Once this all takes place, Neopians that live in Neopia Central will be able to be proud that they live there. They will each stand for something and have a good purpose to reside there.

Neopia Central was recently rated by some of my offsite friends as a less than favorable place to live. I want nothing more now than to change that. One thing that will help is a Neopia Central Paint Brush. It will not only stand out as a favorable item, but it will be a way of saying that's where your Neopet lives and defining just what a Neopian Central Neopet would look like.

I would be one of the biggest fans of this change, of course. I ask for no reward but for this to be taken into consideration. It is a ripe idea just waiting to be harvested.

Wow! Those are great ideas! I think that TNT will think so too! :D
I think in the plot... There should some sort of problem... Well, there always is! Maybe, someone steals all the np from the bank, and it's like a murder mystery. I dunno, I guess something like that.

Hey, the ideas can go on. Perhaps the civil conflict can end when criminals take advantage over the war and a truce needs to be called to get them.

Even better, why not have villains that already exist finally cause the civil war to erupt to take advantage over it?

Well, I really would not like a war like that. Do we really need boards battling each other? There would be spamming all over. And some people (like me) chat at all three.

And I don't think a Neopia Central Paint Brush would be good because... well... what theme would they have? As far as I am concerned, Neopia Central pets would just be... the same as they already are.

Does anyone remember, way far back, when Neopia Central was not on the map? I think they just put it on the map to make it easier to get there. (Although I do not see clicking "Shops" is any more difficult, but newbies could not know what Shops was). So I do not think of it as a world. Sure, you can build a house there, because that is the commerce capital of Neopia (except maybe Mystery Island).

:) Nice writing, by the way.

Hrmms.. I don't think I'm understanding. Neopia Central, to me, has just always been home base - land of a million shops so to speak. Maybe that is what sets it apart already?

Another thing I don't get... I do avatars, I battle, I gain as much np as I can by rsing/trading - does that make me power hungry or money hungry? I think I'm both quite frankly and I think that most active players are as well. (They might not do avs or the BD, but try to get as much np as they can to support their habits in whatever they do.)

I've never really seen a major split unless you count the pro-TnT and the pseudo anti-TnT (depending on whatever has people irritated).. but never really a serious split like the one you're seeing. Maybe I'm one of those blissfully ignorant folks when you get right down to it? I like the idea of TnT introducing new characters and I'm pretty sure this is something that they're constantly working on.

I'm not shooting down what you wrote, merely saying I don't quite understand what you're looking to do.. battle each other? Battle some new characters?

:P I think it would be battle each other, as that is the point of a civil war, but that would be unfair because all the super-good people would battle newbies until they gained power.

Oh, and I'm not money-hungry. If I was, my Lenny Conundrum Plushie would have been sold for 1 mill when I got it. :P

I'm not asking for Neopians to battle each other directly. I'm asking for factions of people to exist in Neopia, each one with a slight quirk in it and favorable in a different way. The war would be just like every Neopets war is, only the conflict would be in Neopia Central over which of three factions will control Neopia.

Battlers would be one faction, allowing only the strongest Neopets.

Only the rishest could be part of a wealthy faction.

Then there would be one faction only people of lower standing can have, and that is of the many citizens that struggle and work hard just to get by.

This will actually present a plot for Neopia Central. I don't want it to be just a home base, a pile of shops. I want it to be a land filled with different ideas, styles, and personalities all its own. In order to work out these differences, there must be an explanation of why Neopia Central has been so peaceful, and why now there is conflict because there is no organization and there are those that feel a need for it. Neopia Central will then become a battleground of who gets to rule, secretly scattered with intrigues and a mystery.

And once the mystery is solved, the conflict will suddenly end and the battle will make a hard right turn on the source of the intrigues to destroy it, creating unity in Neopia Central and an actual plot behind it.

skims the post due to limited time

Looked like it might be interesting, but in reality, I don't want TNT taking on anything more until they've finished their current projects.

LOL... you act as if I have influence to make this plot come to life. Trust me, that's the Staff's choice, and they'll take it carefully like they always do. This is just an idea I want to be considered by many people. I love Neopia Central and want some serious plot in it one of these days so I have more reasons to like it.

Great idea, but as we have seen from the War Prizes Fiasco, TNT might be better off concentrating on what they have before they bite off more than they can chew again.

Could you imagine if the plot DID involve all the money at the bank being robbed.... meaning NO ONE could buy weapons or train for a war that would break out

And another person assumes I have power to decide what the Staff does RIGHT NOW. LOL... come on. I am not all-powerful and making stupid decisions. I just want this idea to be considered in a funny little place called "the future." It may not be a year from now. It may not even be two years from now. But one of these days, I hope it will be. That is why I am submitting ideas, so they will be big topics in the future, when those new ideas will have had time to age in the minds of the Staff and can be applied delicately when the time comes.

Sorry my answer is so delayed, I hope you don't think I was ignoring your answers. Unfortunately real life tends to rear its ugly head once in awhile. :P

I think it's kind of interesting (might make a good story for the times if it never happens, you can write what you think how it would've played out). I know I would get lumped in the everyone else category, which wouldn't please me (yes I am an elitist in a lot of ways, but at least I can admit it) nor would losing my main rs shops (i cannot begin to say upset i'd be to *lose* np during a plot/war  ), but it would be interesting to say the least.

It would, in a lot of ways, actually have a pretty decent answer to every other war (with sides) that always theorize which side is better (the one with the heavy battlers or the one with the masses) and in that sense I give two thumbs way up. :)

Don't get me wrong about the home base comment. I so think it is more than a home base as well - kind of like it is the financial district of the entire world. That doesn't necessarily mean clones - just look at the diversity of the shops because that shows different styles, personalities, etc. The barter for money, services and goods will always offer such diversity. Would be kind of cool to see a godzilla-type monster smashing it though :P

what we need is a war or conflict that has quality
wether that is an epidemic throughout neopia, or a maraqua based war
the key word is quality

and what we need last of all is
politicians fighting
and thats neopian "politicians"

Quality? What is this word you speak of?
