Oh my gosh that's terrible! My friend got swimmer's ear like, last last year and she said it hurt so much and I had to repeat everything I said.
I'm sorry it hurts so much. The only advice I can give you is to go to the doctor straight away and try not to think about your ears. Think about other things and distract yourself.

She says it isn't that serious. And I'm starting to believe her. I didn't take any medication yesterday and my ears didn't hurt
once all day until right before I fell asleep. And this morning, my ears only hurt for a few minutes. I feel pretty much back to normal now, except I'm a bit clogged.
However, thanks for actually caring about me and giving me advice, everyone.

I suggest wearing earplugs next time you go swimming to prevent swimmer's ear again. I had to wear it in the water for a while because of an infection.

ouch all the same, ear infections can turn serious, so still be careful, don't go swimming and don't use earphones *trust me, its gets very painful, quickly if you do, plus it gets worse, i had to end up going to the doctor*

Strange, I wouldn't really have expected an ear infection to run its course, but looks like we need to put more faith in our mothers, lol. Glad to hear that you're ok again anyway, dawn.

At least it's better. I had an ear infection several years ago. It lasted for months, with brown crusty stuff coming out of my ears. It was pretty gross.

Oik, follow Fidds' advice. she doth know best. I near broke my ankle a few weeks back..now that is the most pain I've been in.
Why does your mother refuse to take you? SHe sounds a bit...well, strange? Doesn't she care for your health?

Go to a doctor anyway... my brother had an infection in his ear. It didn't hurt him all the time so he never went to see a doctor about it. Now, he's deaf in that ear.
Go see a doctor.

I used to get ear infections a lot. My ear drum even ruptured twice and both times I didn't even knew I had an ear infection. One time when I was little I was just outside at recess and all of a sudden I felt stuff coming out of my ear. And the other time I was asleep. But I had Swimmers ear two summers in a row and it hurt worse than any ear infection I ever had. That wasn't the worst pain I've ever been in though. The worst pain I've been in is when I did something to my knee in gymnastics. I could barely even get out of bed the next day and I had to wrap it for like a year after I hurt it.

Really alot of medication. But when ever I get an infection the doctor shoves penicilen in my face and says 'One every 8 hours'.

Yes, yes she does. I must have phrased that wrong. She doesn't like to go to the doctor's unless it's really serious.
And Electric DJ- I didn't post this when the infection began. The infection hurting began... about the Saturday night before I posted this, I believe.

Ohh, I hope it gets better... last year I went swimming *all the time*, it was fun and the two pugs, Bella and Sylvia, kept trying to hop in but we had to take them out so they wouldn't drown or anything... And then as soon as I took the plane home my ears started aching, even though they never do on the plane... and soon, when school began, I had a full fledged infection. I sympathize... the only words I can pick out to describe it are a quote from Voldemort:
"Aah... it was pain beyond pain, my friends, nothing could prepare me for it."
Hope it ends real soon...

I feel for you...don't worry, Dawn, the pain won't last for ever. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

I used to get ear infections alot..the doctor usually gave me ammoxicillin (like penacillin) and zithromax. Zithromax was cherry flavored, and it made me get a horrible stomach ache... You should go to the doctor...just to check it to make sure it is ok. Better to be safe than deaf.
