Hi, I take care of my guild's layout for the most part and I've made quick links for our service pages, shops and auctions. Today we noticed that the shop and auction links have been blocked. I've checked, rechecked, relinked everything and it still comes up blocked. Has anyone else noticed this problem? I hope there's not another board about this... and I strongly apologize if there is (I am so blind when it comes to looking for what I need to see).

I think... can't be sure, but I think, that this is a precaution to stop scammers.
Otherwise, whats stopping you from making a link to a 99,999np item in your shop, which simply says "Donate?" on the button? Or whats stopping you from linking to an auction which automatically makes you bid 1 million np or something.
Not saying you're a scammer, but there are some pretty nasty people out there.

The TNT probably did it in order to cut down on scams and stuff on neopets. Rather than try to catch every single scam they probably figured blocking the links of everyone (scam or not) would be the easiest way.

That's kind of what I figured, yet was hoping to be wrong. Thank you both for taking the time to answer. I guess I'll be revamping some pages now

That is pretty sad. Scamlinks! what next?

there was a problem with scammers somehow linking things to auctions and you would automatically bid on an auction, usually a very high price for a piece of junk!
The best thing to do would be to put a link up for your userlookup, people can easily get to your shop and auctions from there!

Try. You'll find that those links have a very short lifespan -- you can buy items from a shop only within very few minutes of visiting it.
It's relatively easy to add some kind of per-user-session-minute parameter to prevent links that buy or bid on anything from working at all -- in fact, that would allow you to link everywhere and not be bothered with some elaborate deception schemes causing users to bid on/buy items.

Just out of curiousity.. I'm kind of code ignorant.. how would the shop thing work? I mean there's a little confirmation box that comes up when you try to buy.. do they bypass that somehow? Is there a way for TnT to block that bypass (if that's what it is) and perhaps add a similar feature to the trades and auctions rather than doing it this way? Or is that a coding nightmare? Sorry for all the questions and my ignorance on the issue.

That confirmation box is on the shopfront page, not the page that where you're buying the item. Kind of like how you can bypass the confirmation box by right-clicking to buy the item.
