Just thought I'd stick my head up and let you know the results of the whole donating to the money tree thing. For nearly a fortnight a friend who lives on Neo never donated a single thing while I who only play for a limited time each day made daily donations to the money tree. It wasn't strictly scientific but there were some interesting things. While she still got a decent amount of random events due to the hours and hours on the site they were a mix of good and bad. On the other hand virtually all of mine were good ones. Apart from the pet gets sick one and one ghosts steal np. All of mine were positive or neutral events. Also my faerie quest frequency went up. Plus when we compared the results of our dailies donating seems to have had a positive effect on my results. More pet levels up at the shrine. More Terror Trove scratch cards and some small wins at both the fruit machine and tombola. So the general results would seem to be that donating has a positive overall effect to your luck on the site.
Has anyone else experimented with items or np having a better effect?

I thought it was mentioned in one of the editorials that donating to the money tree didn't increase random events?

I suppose that it could just be coincidence but from 3 or 4 a week I'm now getting multiple ones a day. A faerie quest every couple of days and hardly any negative events. I have seen other people say that luck comes in waves on the site. So it could be coincidental that it coincided with just when I started to donate.

i believe that the donation theory works with the Tombola donations as well. I remember this theory from YEARS ago. perhaps TNT is denying it because it was such a small little detail that they could've forgotten about. BTW, i tried asking that in the editorial but, sadly, was never answered.

There is that certain spot that you should only go to during a certain time of year that people call the 'sweet spot' for REs.

I remember flicking through some older copies of the NT, and reading the editorials. IT was around the time that the 'Sloth steals 20% of your NP' RE came out that TNT announced that they had introduced a type of 'good person' reward system. They said that if you donate items and NP and play on the site a lot, chances of getting REs is increased, but if you don't play much, or don't donate to the tree, your chances of getting REs diminishes.
I think there was someone who also said the newbies start with a very high 'good person' score, which would explain why the recieve collosal amounts of random events, mostly good ones.
Now, I can't confirm if this is something I actually read in the NT, or something I read at a neo help site, I'm I'm 90% certain I read it in the NT.

I seem to remember reading about this in the news a while back--like at least a year ago. Now it is stuck driving me nuts, so I will have to research it until I find it. I will get back to you if and when I do.

Yes! Other people have read it too! So I'm not going senile!

I've flicked through some random NT editorials, but haven't found it yet myself.

What is the most random events that anybody's ever gotten in a single day.
I think the most I have ever gotten in one day is like 4
Is it just me, or do they seem to be happening abit more frequently now...

I have in the last 3 days had 3 RE's that is more then I had in months. I notice they come in batches. I never even get the little stupid RE's.

Yes I really do believe that part about newbies, Definately happened with us, within the 1st 3 weeks of joining Neopets , we got a Draik Trans in an RE, 2 Nerkmids, a couple of map pieces, and a Christmas Paint brush, and also one of our pets was zapped by boochi. so yes, I do think what you say is very true.
