He's adorable! He looks like he's smiling. I can almost hear his thoughts.

"Yeah I got more Valentine's than you! Muwhahaha! Who's cooler now Micky Mouse? Who's the better rodent now?!"

That is pretty creepy looking, but you have to rember that is an actuall person that is dead now. I actually feel really sorry for him. He didn't even get a chance at life. And his parents, waiting 9 months for a child, then giving birth and being told he has no chance of survival.

I have a newfound respect for octopuses -- they really are intelligent animals. The blanket octopus can't touch the mimic octopus, but they're still pretty amazing. Since they don't have their own defense mechanism, they steal one. Blanket octopuses are immune to man-o-war jellyfish poison, so they rip off the tentacles of the jellyfish they find and use them as weapons. The female blanket octopus is 40,000 times larger than the male. So the male, being the size of a jellybean, is gonna need some defense. I imagine it's pretty cute to see the poor little guy waving a jellyfish tentacle around, hoping to scare off any predators.

After mating, the male just dies. It's sad, but Mother Nature sees little purpose in the little fella past impregnating the female. Oh well.

The Harlequin Fetus and the little girl without a face...Those are just about the saddest things I've ever seen...

there's a worm a bit like that, i cant remember the details tho, and cant find the right bit the book it was in, but the male worm actually lives inside the female worm and the only thing it does is help with reproduction.

The harelquin baby was kind of gross looking. I don't see whats bad about that baby. Sure, it doesn't have a face. Other than that, its a normal baby. I don't get whats gross about that. Its not the face only that makes a person pretty. Its sad that it has to go through surgeries and whatnot, and its sad it will never be "normal", but its not gross.

The male anglerfish is about a fifth the size of the female, and becomes a permanent parasite on the female for the rest of his life. Oo

It's the part about the stomach and the tube stuff. It really is distrubing on how she eats.

That happens in another species, too.......oh yes, human beings.

As for the girl with no face..it's not disgusting, it's sad. When she grows up... how is she going to feel? It's going to be hard to live with... But I agree, it's not gross.
