I know plenty of nice generous people who don't throw their items and people they don't know. (And complain when they run off) Since they are so "nice and generous" they would move on and earn the Np back. It was their choice to give it out.

So judging every single person on a forum because of two or three people is intelligent? I don't honestly see your comments to be intelligent, either. In the universal spectrum of skills, "flaming" lags right behind remembering to breathe. It isn't a good way to present yourself as an intelligent individual. Nobody is going to listen to your point if it's laden with personal insults and accusations.

If you want to contest Adam's post, it would have been easy for you to state your point politely: Being a guild leader has nothing to do with being scammed in this case, and one can be generous without trusting complete and total strangers with their NP/items. You didn't need to state that he was "whining" or call him an idiot. If you had posted that way, I'm sure some peopel would have agreed with you. You are entitled to an opinion here, so long as you don't start flaming people by stating it.

Since you are obviously new here, I'm not going to go brandishing out strikes or anything. You can't expect to be greeted nicely if your first few posts on a forum contain direct insults towards another member. Maybe if you tried being polite and having a positive attitude instead of charging in with a negative mindset, you'd be able to see why we already have so many members who love it here.

(Oh, and as a side note for the rest of you, flaming somebody BACK is *still* flaming. You won't sidestep your way out of a strike just because somebody else posted first.)

Now she wont give them back and is selling some of them in the trading post.
I spent about 10k on the items and can't spend that again.
I just really want to get the items back.
*sigh*

While I admire your generosity, I think a little bit of caution is needed in future. When you lend items out to people, ensure that you can trust the pesron you're lending items too.

On the bright side, it's only 10K. Should only take 15 minutes to gain that back again :)

15 minutes?
10k takes me more like 2 hours of playing games.

Hey, it could be worse. I am a guild leader and several of our guild members pooled our resources and bought a faerie queen doll. We loaned it out to several members for the avvie and almost lost it. One of our members offered a larege group of items for collateral, then as soon as they got the doll, claimed they had been hacked. Then I find out the item used for collateral were actually borrowed from another guild member.

Then we get to checking and find out this person has multi accounts and has scammed other guilds for stuff doing this. The odd thing is we actually got it back! For some reason 2 days later, the person anounced they had found a way to get another one and gave ours back to us. Now that dollie is stashed for safekeeping with much stricter rules for loaning her out.

I never ever loan to people that I don't know extremely well (for the internet.) Sorry that happened to you.

That being said, I don't understand what's going on with these boards lately. When I was a new member, an established member had called me uninformed because of my choices of news source and I sarcastically called that person "intelligent" and rolled my eyes. A moderator instantly jumped down my throat and verbally stomped me into the ground. We worked it out after many heated posts, but I'm just trying to say that the tolerance for flamming seems to be a lot higher at the moment. I don't think it's a positive change.

I know it was said once on the boards somewhere that asking for colateral and stuff for the loan and rent of items is forbidden but as of yet I dont see that specified in the TOS though it now has anything we deem improper in there..

*sighs* Man, that sucks...you can't trust anyone on Neopets nowadays :(
