Does anyone know how to increase the number of random events you get? Apart from endless page refreshing? I have heard that donating to the money tree will help?

It always seem like I get more REs have I donate a good amount to the Money Tree. I don't know if I actually do or if that's just me making stuff up subconciously.

Same, I donated a load of stuff over Christmas and within the space of a few days I'd had two Lab Map pieces, codestones, nps, and some of the bad ones too. Having said that, nothing substantial has been proved about donating and for the most part its a rumour, just like the_dog_god said.

Page refreshing actually isnt that effective. I find more RE's when I am zooming around the site clicking on lots of different pages. Playing games like Neoquest and pyramids are usually good for a couple of RE's though too!

I try to donate stuff I don't need to the Money tree because I heard about it increasing your chances slightly.

In fact ...I think I'm going to go donate all the Advent prizes I don't need right now.

I donate stuff just about every day - not that it's all great, but it's just items I wouldn't use, don't need for the packrat avi (got that really quick ) and I hardly ever get a RE, unless you could Adee and her neobadges, the scabu, grundo fetching pets to be eaten as alot of RE's. That's mostly what I get.

Even on my birthday - had the sidebar, got not one RE the entire day.

I think it's just random, sometimes you just have alot of RE in a short period of time, then you can go months without any.

I used to donate stuff every day, then go off to play Neoquest II. I got NO random events, not one! So I dunno what to think I haven't had a random event for ages

I get the ghost who steals my np a lot. sometimes even twice a day . And the neobadge RE. I am so sick of seeing that one.

I don't think donating, or the bday sidebar increase your chances of REs.

and i jsut donated the entirety of my deposit box (IE: the advent calander items except for a couple plushies)

I have gotten tons and tons of RE's--good, bad, and ugly. Since last Wednesday: Pant Devil has hit me twice, someone else stole a negg from me, King Skarl's marrow tax got me, my pet got hit with a disease, and ghosts have stolen points from me about 5 or 6 times. I have also gotten several codestones. several instances of points on the floor (a few times it was 1000), two Nerkmid Mania books, a lottery ticket, several battledome challengers, a Deluxe scorchio cracker, a Neopets birthday goodie bag, and even a mutant petpet PB thrown at my feet. That doesn't count all of the neutral RE's I've gotten--never give out your password, passing Bruce says hi, make a neobadge, etc.

I basically refresh on the shop wiz almost the whole time I play Neo (I'm a reseller). But, I also donate high rarity items every day on the money tree (rarity 130 items that Illusen and Jhudora give out--I buy them for 1 or 2 nps on the wiz).

I have been on a lot more than normal the past few days because my daughter and I have been home sick with nothing to do but play the internet. And, these have happened on both my main and secondary accounts. But still, I have gotten more RE's in the past week than I ever got during the first 10 months of 2004.

Playing NQII isn't really that good. I rarely ever get them. Just going randomly around the site has gotten me a lot. And cliffhanger. Use PPT's cliffhanger guide and you could get a lot

I donated quite a bit and got a couple codestones in a week, a piece of treasure map, an icy negg and during about three weeks two veespas. But, as most are saying, I'm not sure the donation really had much to do with it. I just like to clear up my account a little. Anyway, I guess, as also most are saying, there's no real way to increase your chance except for clicking around a lot.
For some reason I get quite a few when I'm in the Terror Mountain area.

I've been rather lucky with random events... Yesterday I had my record of 18 of them! I never got a random event from refreshing; they mostly happen whenever I'm playing Pyramids or Snow Wars.

Thanks for everyone's advice. I donated a combination of np and junk items and for the first time in weeks got 2 random events. Unfortunately it's red petri of doom time so I can't try today but thanks everyone who answered.
