Well I'm not too ticked about him going to get unfrozen in like a day or whatever, 'cuz he's a cool dude.
That and I've never been frozen (TNT I buy your plushies don't freeze me ;_;), so I dunno what it's like to sit around for months waiting for a response. XP

I don't see what's the big deal... He's just some dude who TNT obviously favors, and he got hacked. He'll get his account back, of course, and I'll be sitting here with my unfairly frozen account. The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. A fact of Neopian life.

I hear ya. I have been frozen 3 times now and I don't even know how to cheat.

I find it odd how I've done some pret-ty bad stuff on Neopets yet the most I've recieved is a warning (and I don't even think it was on my current account)...
I bet it's because of all the rare item codes I've redeemed.

It probably does have something to do with it. I never once received a warning before my freezings and didn't even know they gave some out. I guess if you do not want to be frozen, buy theiir stuff or pay for the site.

I wish that had been true for me... I had done a ton of rare item codes and the didn't hesitate to freeze me... Just the thought of the fact that I've literally spent at least $200 on Neopets merchandise... Disgusting...

I buy boxes just for the codes sometimes, i rawk XD

When I first saw the title of this thread, I was like, "You've got to be kidding me." I didn't think Jazz would have been frozen 'against his will', so to speak. When I looked up cinfulgirl, I found that there is a link on her userlookup to that of Jazz's storage account, and on that lookup he explains the reason for his freezing:

remy, you beat me to it. I just logged onto my gallery for a minute to check on my pets, get my paltry bank interest there and stopped by the bd to lurk. Saw him post, went to his lookup.

Indeed it is true that he self-froze. It is also true that he was NOT hacked. To me that is very good news. No one deserves for that to happen, be they "famous" or not.

IMHO it's still not a good idea to go talking on im or email, etc. to people you don't know. Enough can happen when you DO know someone and they decide either to be jealous, you have an argument or they decide to "have fun" with you by messing with your account.

As to people on premium either not getting frozen or getting unfrozen quickly, that's not true. We have a member here who was a premium user, got frozen, and can't even get a refund for the RL money spent on the premium. To my knowledge, that person has not gotten their account back - yet.

There is a misconception that people with premium really are getting 'special privileges' and it's just not so. We get 1k np a month, a space faerie sc once a week (never won anything) -- I'm not even seeing any extra RE's -- I rarely get any. We also get an email, the private (quiet so far) board and are able to beta test some things and give some feedback. If someone using premium breaks the rules or something happens and they're unfairly frozen, there's no special button or anything magic that gets the account back.

The big plus for me with premium? no ads (and no ads downloading in the background, even if you are using Firefox or the IE css thing) so no spyware. That's what's special to me!

I'm a Premium Member (Just because I dont like that Ad at the top of the page and you can tell the difference by how fast the pages load without it).
I just can say that being a Premium Member does not offer any advantages for the Not Getting Frozen Department
