What are premium members? Do they have any advantages and how do I become one?

They get no banner (which you can get anyways free), and various other things.

well, I if you look at jazz_invincible's lookup, he shows screenies of Neopets Premium. If you have premium, then you get to try unreleased neopetes stuff before other people and test it out. There are probably some other benefits that I don't know about.

Someone said premium members get free scratchcards every friday.
Although that could've been a lie ...I wouldn't know ...

i think that that is a rumor, but lost desert scratchcards was released to premium members first.

I just wish they'd bring the lost desert kiosk back.

I am a premium member, and to the best of my knowledge, here are the benifits I receive:

-I get to test games and other things (like meerca chase 2, and lost desert scratchcards) before they are released to the public
-I get a free space faerie scratchcard every friday
-I get a neopets e-mail address
-I get to use the neopets portal, which makes playing more convenient
-I've noticed a lot more random event than usual while playing around the site.

I may be forgetting something, but that's what I can think of off the top of my head

It's true. They get a Space Faerie Scratchcard each week.

Although the perks are rather handsome, I'm not willing to spend about £5 a month on a passing craze which I flit in and out of.

what are space faerie scratchcards exactly??? plus you don't know for sure if the random events are more do you? Plys haveing more random events isn't always good, you know. there are bad ones too. BTW how much do neopets premium cost???

well, the space faerie scratchcards are very similar to the lost desert ones, where you actually kinda scratch it off. except they don't have a kiosk or anything, neopets sends you a notice to your neopets email, and you can get it through your portal. I've only won 300np from my scratchcards, so they're nothing great.

As for the random events, I guess I don't know for sure, but it just seems that way. For instance, I've been playing for almost 3 years, and usually, I gould expect MAYBE one random event per day. today alone I've found a codestone on the floor, a cooty on one of my petpets, and had the bug brothers jump out and steal 88np. It's true that not all random events are good, but I would say most that I've been getting are.

I pay $7 a month I think...

Not the scratchcards, just the kiosk.
You can still find the scratchcards in some peoples shops.

what's the point of the scratchcards then?

There's no point to them at the moment I guess.
They're just there in case the kiosk does come back.
