I'm not so much ticked at being warned as I am at the rule itself and whoever had the indecency to report me. I wouldn't mind nearly as much if I didn't still have 701 jellies stuck in my inventory. Ah well, maybe I'll just randomly send stuff out, like has been suggested. But some people don't WANT the jelly or can't carry it, or it will clog their inventories and disrupt trades, transactions, etc. That's another reason I put it on a board, one board, and if I just randomly sent it to people on chats they'd probably make a dozen boards if I gave out enough, thus causing great amounts of spam. So I'm stuck.

What do I do with all this bloody jelly?

There's always the money tree. Or you could feed it to your pets for the next year or so.

EDIT: And, EC, I agree that the rules should be more concise and clear (wouldn't an FAQ be nice?). But other things need to be done as well. From the letter I got from the staff person re my daughter's account, it doesn't seem like all of the monitors know the rules or the nuances in the rules. And, it really seems like, once a monitor gets a report (at least those regarding the chat boards), he/she doesn't bother to check the actual topic and posts to see if the report is even legit.

And, an even better question, is anyone overseeing a monitor's actions--like a supervisor? Any job I ever had, there was always someone looking over my shoulder to make sure it was done correctly. But, is this the case with Neo? I mean, if a monitor makes a mistake and freezes someone who is innocent, does anyone check that person's work to see if the freezing was justified? And, if it wasn't justiified, does anyone proactively unfreeze the account--or do they just wait to see if the user files a report?

I just want to add one more thing. To avoid getting frozen, you can always create a "throwaway" account and use only that account to go on the chatboards. One pet, very little points. That way, if you are falsely reported and frozen, you haven't lost your main account, painted pets, hard earned nps, years of work. etc.

I still don't send stuff to the Money Tree because it's full of campers, cheaters, and greedmongers, and newbies and the poor rarely if EVER get items from it! Besides, I can't even USE quickstock, so there's no point in doing it one at a time (it lessens the chance for those who really need it even more)!

Morningstar, what if they freeze ALL of my accounts? That wouldn't help my chances of getting Felrum_jelly_cube back, much less OmniIcyshelf (And I STILL haven't gotten a response about that ¬_¬)

Once again, there's the issue of sending all the jelly to one account, especially so much of it, since I'll have to continually empty that account's inventory in order to keep getting more.

Hmm, I know! What if I just made a board that said "Post here" and I just gave the stuff out to people who posted on it? But it would STILL technically be a giveaway, since, after all, I'm giving people something for nothing, and someone would probably report for off-topic/spam (Unless I added the classic "DBD does 8 icons" to the title for Battledome, "help plz" for help, "Slothyful" for Virtupets... But even then, that's not likely)... Gah, this is useless. Alright, neomail me if you want a piece and haven't gotten one from me already. Account name's Felrum_jelly_cube. I'm starting a vague board, too, one that's on-topic but still people get stuff anyway.

Hmm, my grammar is sliding :P

One would hope that they wouldn't freeze all of your accounts because one of them was giving away jellies. But, don't hold me to that, OK? Because I have seen stranger things happen.

It is still smurf--the whole thing--and I feel sorry for you. Makes a person with a charitable spirit go "Bah, humbug."

I'm sorry you got warned. It seems like either people get warned/frozen at the boards, or get majorly bashed. I went to the boards for the first and last time a couple of months ago. I wanted to sell my H4k helmet, because I wasn't a huge battler and I wanted some extra np to get my Draik. Anyway I posted at the BD chat and just about had it crammed down my throat. :P I was laughed at, called some names, etc. I left and went to a different board.

TNT really need to set up a clear set of rules. I really think that haven't because they don't really have a clear set of rules. There are approximate rules (don't sweat, etc) and then there are things like giveaways which are sort of grey...

I'm glad you didn't get frozen though!

True, you gotta look at the bright side of things. It's just a warning, and plus now you have a lot of jelly. Mmmm mmm deee-licious. ^_^

Morningstar, the question of monitor actions - and mistakes made. That is an excellent question. I'm sure there are supervisors, but at the same time, monitors work from home, not from the office, and they're on the site when regular staff isn't (24/7). Honestly? I don't think monitors or support staff are given all the information they need to be up date at all times so they can do their job in the most efficient manner and give us, the members, the correct answers to our questions and problems. That is not a slam against either monitors or staff - they have a hard job and they do the best they can ... with a few exceptions, I'm sure.

I know one of our members here was frozen for typing ebay. I'd like to know if that person did get unfrozen, they certainly should have been. Adam came here and said that we should not be getting warnings/frozen for that.

As to a proactive unfreeze? I don't know if there's adequate resources for that. I'm going to guess that they wait for a form to come in and hopefully someone sees it, really reads it and takes the steps to get that account back to the person unfairly frozen.

A FAQ would be so great - for us and for staff.

And as I said in my other post, I agree that many times a monitor just sees a topic, doesn't look any further ... or reports come in, the board (or whatever) isn't looked at - just the report and BAM here comes the warning or freeze. I do think at the very least if someone's going to get warned (or worse) whatever the contemplated warning is for should be looked at. Guilty until proven innocent just isn't a good way to run a site or do business.

I've been warned 4 times, and frozen once for giving newbies food/toys on the newbie boards o.o. I don't see why anyone would report someone for giving things away >.0 Some people actually like being nice..

Unfortunately, stampsyne, no- People here are kind and their discussion as much substance, but the posts are far in between and lack senselessness, which I like to witness (and take part in if it doesn't put me at a risk for being frozen!).

I have been giving out jelly to those on the Help Chat who have been kind or helpful or have shown some sort of virtue, or are in need of money or items. This one especially caught my attention, and the Pineapple Jelly I had reserved for the 500th person to receive jelly I felt just HAD to go there. Yes, some people were helpful, but this topped EVERYTHING.

Image

No, I did not get the Honey Potion, but that was really something. No amount of jelly I could ever give could measure up to this. Out of all the rudeness, elitism, and skepticism I saw among many of the Help Boarders, this shone like a train's headlamp in a narrow, dark tunnel that you can't escape from (Sorry, bad simile :P). Wow.

I talked with this person, and it happens that she goes to these very forums sometimes- I won't say who it is, though, due to a request she made.
