See if someone has gmail and will send you an invite, use yahoo (it's a little safer) or if you use an ISP like msn, aol, etc. if you can set up a new screenname and use that email just for Neo. ISP emails are not as easy as web-based to crack.

I have 6 invites, so if you want a gmail acount (they're aweomse) just PM me with you current e-mail! ;)

It's really awful to hear this :(

But, how did the scammer put all of her pets for adoption? You can only disown one a day and surely in one whole day you had enough time somehow to do something, report him (I know you said it doesn't work for you but you can try, no? :/), etc.?

kostya, aren't you nice :)

This is crazy. Has your friend done everything possible to ensure that this didn't and doesn't happen again? Run an a/v and spyware scan, change the password on her neo account every day, change the email she uses for neo and change that password, along with the security question and answer (make the answer something random and nonsense that can't be guessed) - most emails do have that now, my ISP even does.

Cleared cookies? Not using a public computer - meaning this could be someone she knows even casually like a school. Public computers are one of the big ways people get hacked/cracked/scammed it seems.

Never ever give out the email/aim/im/yim to anyone unless she really does know them?

I can't think of anything else.

I know this has been said various times, but tell her to make her password very obscure. I mean, if her old password was something like, oh say: neoperson123, changing it to neoperson987 won't do much good. Make sure she makes her password REALLY unguessable. Also, get Gmail for her, make the answer to the secret question really stupid

example wrote:
QUESTION= What is your pet's name
ANSWER= MYPETISNOLONGERINTHISWORLDBECUASEITWASONCE
HEREBUTNOLONGERISALIVEBECUASEITWASAGOLDFISHTHATWAS
EATENBYMYEVILCATLOL

...or something along these lines

Also, tell her to run a spyware, av check as well :)
