Disapearing NPs?

I just logged in and I saw I had about 4150 nps missing.
Exactly how much I sold a Bottled Dark Faerie for.
And in my items there was a Wet Snowball which I'm pretty sure wasn't there before.
I've changed my password.... But I'm really scared.

Probably it's a glitch. Because if someone hack your account, they will withdraw your money from your bank first.

The 4150: Ghost Random Event
Wet Snowball: Also Random Event

I withdrew the nps.... and just now I noticed them missing.

Maximum ghosts can steal is about 500.
I haven't refreshed at all.
I logged off with 4150 nps than I have now....
And signed on with 4150 nps less than I had before.

I honestly think that if someone had gotten into your account, they would have taken more than 4150. Is it possible that it is a friend/sibling trying to "mess with your head" so to speak? Because I think a real scammer/hacker would have take all of your nps, not just 4150.
Or is it possible that it was due to random events? I refresh on the shop wiz quite a bit and, because of that, I don't always see the random events at the top of the screen. So far I have gotten at least two that I didn't know about until later--one gave my pet some weird disease and the other was a gift of a neggitus injection. Perhaps, it was a random event like the tax beast/Dr. Sloth/King Skarl that took the points away and another random event (or Neofriend) that gave you the snowball? The tax beast, Dr. Sloth, and King Skarl take away a percentage of nps--so, it can be way more than the 500 limit the ghosts seem to have (I have lost tens of thousands to each of them).

My friends and my brother don't know my password....
And my brother doesn't play neopets.

It happened to me, too! A couple of days ago, I had just put all my NP in the bank except for about 750 (I put it in by thousands, so I always have less than a thousand on hand) Then I got off Neopets (still logged in) and played around here for a bit. When I went back on Neopets, my NP were gone... and I blamed my sister. She said she did nothing of my sort (I was just being mean anyways, she doesn't know my password or anything).
A couple of hours later, when I got my Advent Calender... there were four items I am quite sure I never had before. Two different medicines, and two beauty items.

I hope you get it back! You can always play the game of the day for easy nps. I once had both of my advent calendar items dissppear. Im sure neopets isnt glitch-free.

Have you placed any bids on anything in the Trading Post?? If so, the NPs are automatically deducted from your "in hand" amount until the owner accepts or rejects your bid.
Could you have missed the RE of the Mutant Kadoatie?? I've been hit twice this week by that one, and it deducts 5,000 NPs.

I only had a little over 700 NP when it happened to me. And I remember it was something like 721... there is no RE I know of that will take 721 NP, and replace it with two medicinal items and two beaty items... is there?
