I swear, EC, every year, at just about this time, lots of people get frozen. Don't know if it is because they hire extra help for the holidays or people getting greedy and are going to the advent calendar on more than one account (for something they will be able to buy in January for 20 nps?) or what?

I swear, I get twinges if my daughter goes to the advent calendar on her account right after I did--and then, when my husband is home on the weekends, God help us all. I want to put an advent calendar/freebie schedule into place so the three of us don't get frozen. And, we have been playing for two years now. Paranoid,? You betcha!!!

Morningstar, I hear you! The freezings tonight have been cheating (using a program), a couple saying that someone had been scammed, one said that they got the 'we don't know why' message ... just seems like an awful lot.

My (new) roomie, who has always played on my computer cause she doesn't have one - now living here - and I have a kind of a deal. She has no interest in most of the dailies, she's really happy with jelly and omelette for her pets. I like tombola, the WOE (sometimes), the shrine and fruit machine. So, I don't get omelette or jelly - I buy them, and she doesn't go to any other dailies (not that she did anyway).

Advent? Well, she works, I don't, so we're definitely on different schedules with that. And yes, I did write to support to let them know the situation and I did get a very nice reply. Forwarded a copy to my roomie on her email. This way we have it on record and that by sending a reply it IS truly on record in case anything should happen.

It's crazy that we have to be sooooooo very careful in everything we do and say anymore! Things are just too tense on the site. At least now that my one pet's being trained and I have a few weapons, I can occasionally have a 2 person friendly battle. That helps with the frustration factor for a few minutes.

We all live in different parts of the world so the same computer is not possible what-so-ever. Thank you all for reading this. I am just so upset about this I am , I don't know...

I think that there are three, perhaps four individual monitors responsible for the strict, abrupt freezings that have been occurring in the past year.

I will not even let my daughter play on neo. 1) she is to young. 2) she would be frozen for who knows what. 3) she can not read, but likes the games.

I am not a little kid who has frineds in school that they gave items too. I gave items to many people in my guild every single person, from time to time. from the give to neo-friends option. that would include the 3 other people frozen. Also I have given items to them in the TP and the other way around to.

We all do not even make NP's the same way. I just do not understand how they could freeze all of us with in a few minutes of each other from Malti accounts. We are not malti's and I really want my account back.

Well, I know it doesn't mean too much, but you are not alone. There are lots of people here on PPT who were frozen and did nothing wrong. It is extremely unfortunate and my heart goes out to anyone and everyone who has been frozen through no fault of their own.

Thu Dec 09, 2004 1:33 am

Thank you, that was kind of you to say that.

It is just hard after 2 years of playing for my account to go poof up into the air. I am looking at it as 2 years of my life gone, waisted on something stupid. That is part of the reason I am so upset about this whole thing.

We have been giving items back and forth for any where from 18 to 21 months. We all ended up meeting on Neo. If it was not for neo I would not have them as friends. So that is a good thing. It is just not making me happy about it that 2 years of my time is gone cause of something I did not, would never do.

Oh, Gaberalla, I know just how you feel--well, sort of, I suppose. I have never been frozen, but have two family members who have. And, that is the feeling they had too. A certain number of months/years wasted because of something that they would not do in a million years if they had thought it was wrong. And, both of them really don't play any more because of that--too easy to be falsely frozen once again. Better to find a game that isn't' so harsh.

Same with the people I have seen here on PPT and in my guild--for the most part, long-time players bend over backwards to obey the rules. It is a darned shame the Neopets staff doesn't realize that. Because that's the people they should try to keep playing Neo. The new players may or may not stay--it is a fad for them. But, the long-time players--they have a lot invested in Neo and wouldn't have stayed around this long if they didn't get some sort of value from the game--and would probably stay a lot longer if Neo didn't falsely freeze them. You would think that they would have someone in their marketing dept. to tell them that.

oh no...

not another freezing...

i'm kind of worried now because all my family members with the exception of my dad plays neopets. ONE AFTER ANOTHER. cos we thought that perhaps everyone can benefit especially with snowager etc.

every weekends my cousins come up to play neopets using my computer because their's is on a 56k modem while mine's on broadband.

i just hope we all don't get frozen once again.

Once was one time too many.

it's does seem kind of weird that we are all hooked but the advent prizes are truly fun!!! so only during dec do the "user usage" go high...

Thu Dec 09, 2004 6:19 pm

That is the hard thing. Expecilly during the month of the Advent they always seem to go freeze happy. I wish if they would at least check for sure to know if there malti's before freezing them. At least I think we deserve that much. I have bought many neopets items over the past 2 years. And now for my account being frozen I am not sure If I ever will buy one again.

I hope they at least take the time to respond to my message for freezing. I do not think I did anything wrong. I really would like my account back. It has been a lot of time on that site for it just to get frozen.

Fri Dec 10, 2004 1:54 pm

Sorry to hear your account is frozen for something you didn't even do.

Hopefully they will return your account sooner rather than later. Alot of these freezings don't even make since.. yet you see people on the neochat that deserve to be frozen yet they are left to pollute the site.

This is one of the reasons TNT needs to do away with freezing accounts and adopt a probation kind of thing, people who are wrongfully frozen would stand a better chance of getting their account back.

5. If you cheat on Neopets games or use cheat programs, including non-Neopets software or programs, to play the games we will freeze your account. In addition, NeoPets may freeze any other account that has directly or indirectly benefited from the use of such programs.

I gave three items to a friend's new account after he was frozen for duping, which I didn't know when I gave him the items. My fiddelysquat account was iced. I mailed them about it, but they didn't even grace me with a reply. I gave up and moved on to other accounts.

Now i've been shop wiz hunting the past week (and i've made about 400 k doing so) by finding good prices on paint brushes and such... but does this mean that if I was to buy something from a shop that had say been hacked, or had been cheating, that I could be frozen?
Because would that not be directly benefiting the cheating account?

Yes, it does. It means that if someone who hates you uses an autobuyer and sends you a bottled faerie, you can be frozen. If someone dupes items and you buy one from them on the Trading Post, you can be frozen. If someone donates the paintbrushes they duped to the Money Tree and you get one, you can be frozen.

that is just terrible. so for all of the people who got frozen and have no idea why, that might be it. because they had the "nerve" to go and buy something for a good deal in a shop, not knowing the shop owner had cheated or done something wrong.

TNT should be ashamed of themselves.
