You know what would fix all htese problems? If TNT would let people have more than 1 shop. They could possible jack up the prices to upgrade your shop, sure, but you could have for example, 2 or more shops. And how you use those shops would be entirely up to you.

That'll fix up all those pesky gallery account issues.

Or, if you were able to put tabs on your spare accounts so that TNT know whether you're just transferring that Baby PB, or being scammed.

The whole gallery accounts issue is very hazy. It's stupid really, how badly it's organised.

teh0mega, I sent in a suggestion almost 2 years ago about being able to have 2 shops - one a regular, one for gallery - on one account.

It's also been discussed and I think it would be a great idea to be able to "link" your own accounts with, say, a second password. As long as people didn't use the same pass as the regular login I think it would be safer? That way you could send items back and forth without worrying. Not even np, just items. Like I have a ghost pb in my gallery. If I revamp the way I want to, it has to come out of the gallery. I paid for and used the tp to send it there from my main account. Now, if I were to use the tp to send it back, am I going to be frozen for cheating or multi'ing? It's not a small item. I consider anything 100k and under anymore to be a small item. Don't know what TNT does.

To ban all item/np transfers I agree would not work. I have sold a few things in my gallery account that I didn't need/want and have never had a problem. Alot of people sell things on secondary accounts and are fine. What's not fine is sending np from other accounts TO your main.

Quote:
You cannot have multiple accounts just to get more Neopoints or items. You are only allowed a maximum of five (5) accounts and can earn Neopoints with only one (1) account.

This is where it is clear and hazy at the same time. To me it basically says no transferring np to your main account, which is fine with me (plus there's not enough in the gallery account to send over). I know you're not supposed to send anything you get in a RE to your main account.

But support has said that we can use shops, tp and auctions to sell from other accounts. That's where it's hazy. You can't have another account, not be able to play games, etc., not be able to sell things and not be able to send np from your main and have that account be able to be supported. The 250 np you get from creating a new account won't go very far just keeping a pet fed.

I have a question about multiple accounts:

Is it okay to be logged into one account in one browser and a different account in another? (For example, I'm logged into my main account in Firefox and my secondary one in IE.) I'm not earning any NP on the secondary one or breaking any rules; I'm just logged in so I can check on the pets or read the new plot parts (which don't work well in Firefox) or whatever.

From what i have been reading, it seems that you might get frozen.

One thing that I'm am very suprised about is that I haven't heard or seen anyone mentioning the use of accessing your other accounts through a proxy. I have about 4 different account, 3 of which I use actively to gain points and items. They are all linked to different e-mail addreses of course.

I have 3 different web browsers on my computer and they are all configured to access the internet through a proxy. If you don't know what a proxy is, it is sort of buffer between you and the internet. In other words, the internet sees you connected on an ip address different from the one that is assigned by your isp.

Of course you have to be carefull about the way you transfer NP and items to your main account.

xanther, I'm not sure who you're saying might get frozen.

The only thing I know about proxy is that your ISP, say MSN or AOL, uses IE, but it's a proxy, not direct IE. I have no idea how you'd have 2 or more browsers and how they would be configured.

Cranberry, it's my understanding that regardless of the browser you're using, unless you know how to do what xanther's talking about, would all have the same IP.

I will say this - having the knowledge to do this and using it to have multiple accounts and play games, do dailies, rs, etc. is, IMO, cheating.

Oh yeah, I know. I'm just wondering if it's a problem to have the same IP logged into two separate accounts at the same time. I know we're allowed to own multiple accounts (as long as we follow the rules, which I do), but does TNT expect us to log in and out every time we switch from one to another? I know you can be frozen for being logged into one account in two different places/browsers, but if the accounts are separate, does that rule still apply?

(Hope that all made sense.)

Cranberry that made perfect sense to me! Why an account can be accessed in 2 locations is still beyond me.

Obviously, I use IE and only IE, so only one browser whether via my ISP or by clicking IE on my desktop. I do log out completely and clear my cookies before I log into my other account. I started doing that because otherwise I'd log in to the other account and have to keep refreshing pages - my other info would keep popping up, and was annoying.

Now I clear cookies and temp internet as soon as I leave any site - trying to surf safer with all the adware, tracking cookies, etc.

So, ending babble, I'm not sure about being logged into 2 accounts at the same time on 2 browsers. I do know alot of people DO do that, especially if they're trying to transfer a pet to another account. I'm not sure about doing it on a daily, just-as-something-you-do type of thing though.

Sorry if I confused you guys.

If you do have multiple accounts and do want to use both browsers at the same time and not get booted, to change in IE: go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> Lan Settings Button-> check box that says "Use proxy server..." then put in new IP and port number;

in Firefox: go to Tools -> Options -> General -> click on theConnection Settings button -> check the manual configurations check box and input the IP and port in the "HTTP Proxy line"

To find IP addresses and their respective port numbers do a google search for "proxy list." I usually go to http://www.stayinvisible.com. They have a good list of proxies you can use and if you need more info about them, that's there too. You may have to test a few of them out to find the right one because some of them are very slow.

Hopefully this will ensure you won't get frozen because both browsers will have a different IP address, and from what I believe , the is the way they determine if two accounts are on the same computer.

Sorry this is kinda long!!!
