OK, I don't want to bum anyone out--but the saddest thing I think I ever saw was this homeless mom coming up to me asking me if I knew where there was a shelter that she and her kids could stay at overnight. I had just come from a Harry Potter event in my town--where all of us "rich: folk with children in tow were living it up and spending money hand over fist for HP action figures and games, etc.--and was walking towards my car when she came up to me.

Didn't ask for money or beg or anything like that, just please could I help her find the homeless shelter that was in our town. She was so embarassed and explained that her husband had just died and she had no family to turn to. Honestly, I almost started crying. Here I was spending goo gobs on my spoiled kid and here was a woman who didn't even have a warm bed for her two little kids.

And, trust me, I am not an easy mark--I live just outside of Chicago and see beggars, panhandlers, and con artists all of the time in my suburb.

But, she was none of those. And, she really got to me--I reached into my purse and gave her all of the money I had and then I went home and cried for about 1/2 an hour about how unfair live was.

Too sad.

Oh my word. That poor woman. :(

I'm glad you helped her. *hug*

OOoooh! I have one, a couple of years ago, just before I came to PPT, I used to go to the Neoboards, I was a regular in the Help Chat, at the time, there was a girl there who's name was something like "Laura The Milk Fairy" or something.
Well, about the same time, I went on an overnight out of town trip with some friends. And we were very giggly the entire time, particularly my friend Miranda and I. For some reason the phrase "Laura The Milk Fairy" was stuck in my head head, so I told her about it. One bag of cotton candy later, when we were very hyper, we would randomly shout it out, only we shortened it to "Lo The Milk Fair!"
The embarrassing part didn't happen until the next day. We were going to a mall, and we were walking toward the entrance. We were on a sidewalk, and a van went by with a very colourful bumper sticker. I was trying to read it, and not watching where I was going, and then I randomly shouted "Lo The Milk Fair!" again, and at that moment, the sidewalk curved, and I wasn't watching. I stepped right off the edge of the curb, tripped and landed on my hands and knees.
I wasn't hurt bad, but I jumped up giggling to try to shrug it off. My hands were a little scraped, and my knees were sore, they'd ripped across my right knee, and my knee was scraped and bleeding. I still have a scar there =P
But, on the bright side, when I got home, and Neomailed the Laura girl, and told her about how her name had been partially responsible for my injury =P

XDDD OMG.. What'd she say in reply to that?

Stupid:.. IT didn't happen to me.. but.. it happened to my friend.. xD We had to go to the 8th grade computer lab, last year, me and my friend were in 6th grade.. See, our school has outdoorhallways, and the only indoor one i the 8th grade one.. XD It was really busy, and my friend was hurrying.. she tripped, grabbed a kids bookbag to try and stop from falling, thus pulling that kid down, too. xD I was giggling.

I don't remember exactly, I think she just laughed. And probably thought I was crazy.

In 7th grade, I was walking down the back stairs of the school between classes, and they were this really slick green stone stuff (no Idea what it was, it wasn't linoleum). I slipped, my feet went forward, and my butt went down. Did I also mention that I was wearing a short white skirt that day? My butt slid down three steps, and my foot went underneath me, and I twisted my ankle.
But I gathered myself up, brushed the dust off of my skirt as best as I could, and limped my way to my next class.

How much money was that?

It was $80, but honestly if I had more cash, I would have given it to her.

And, kitten medli, hugs back. That woman--she still tugs at my heart. Ah, I need to start volunteering at a homeless shelter or soup kitchen and yet I keep putting it off. Time to act instead of sitting on my rump playing Neo.

And, just so you think I am not all drama and serious stuff, the stupidest thing I ever did: I was just out of college and I worked in a big office building in downtown Chicago. I was in a dress and really highheels, walking toward the building and crossing the street at the time. The head honcho boss was walking into the door, turned, and saw me and waved. I waved back and while doing so, tripped over the curb and fell flat on my face. He came running toward me and asked if I was OK. I was so darned embarassed that I said yes--even though I had skinned my knee and was bleeding. I will never, ever forget that one. What a clutz! Needless to say, I don't wear heels anymore.

!!!

Stupid: One day, (okay, it was on Thursday) I was walking up the stairs to get to my class. I was late, it was 9:15 AM, so I walk in the class and we have a substitute. We were getting a new student that day, so I walk in and she says "Kids, meet our new student, Garrett, then I'm like "I'm DANIEL!""

Stupid: I was walking up the stairs on Thursday after recess and I trip for the 112th time (I keep track). When I tripped I knocked my friend down. It was the first time I ever experienced this. But I was actually in love! :battar: I wiped my glasses and gave her my hand she gives me hers too. I pick her up and then she hugs me... I almost fell again. I grew weak. Then after she walks out the door. She looks back at me and smiles. I say "See you in class.........." Then I look at my watch and it says 10:50, like I'm 7 minutes late. I come in with her and no one notices. But my other friend did. And at lunch he told everyone that I liked her. She and I both then said at the same time "Yeah, so what?" Then my glasses fall off when I'm talking and the lens cracked up.

And yes, I was the one who thought Young Love was stupid. CURSE YOU OLD MIND! I actually feel great about her. I never used to like her before, but for some reason that day channged it all. Meh.

I was visiting my little cousins, and they wanted to go rollerblading. So I said OK, and got mine.

Didn't go fair...their ankles were too weak. Anyway, we go to go back, and it's a bit downhill, which I failed to realise, and I was already going faster than usual. Went to go towards a trash can to stop myself, then realised it changed to gravel right before it.

Fell on my butt. Was wearing a short skirt. Cute guys nearby. ::shakes head:: (And this was only a few months ago. XD)

Ooh...my stupidest moment ever was when my English class went to the library at school. It was about 8:00 AM and I was still half asleep. My friend and I were walking around pretending we were working, and I saw an issue of Shonen Jump with Yoh on the cover sitting on a prominent display rack. I poked my friend and pointed at it, and I was like 'Dude! That's my husband!' She laughed, because it's our in-joke thing, but I must have said it louder than I thought I did because everyone was staring at me, including my teacher

Whoa, some of you guys have some really funny stories.

Our band was in Colorado the past spring for a trip. We were fortunate enough to stay in condos instead of hotels. After a bunch of confusion, the hotel decided to grant my group of eight an upgraded room because they messed up with booking all of the groups, originally leaving us without a room. The room they gave us was very nice in comparison to the rooms everyone else, including the directors, received. It came fully furnished with pretty much everything.

Anyway, check out day rolls around. The room is a mess, there is a pile of dirty dishes in the sink, and the directors were doing room inspection in about two hours, expecting everything to be in its original condition. Seeing how the room was all guys, none of us knew how to do dishes. After looking around the kitchen, we couldn't find any dishwashing liquid. They asked me what we should do and I "smartly" replied that we should just use the dishwashing soap, thinking soap is soap and there's no difference.

Well, we find out later that the little plan backfired and left a big mess of soap suds underneath the dishwasher. It was then, while searching for towels, that we found the dishwashing liquid which was conveniently placed underneath the sink. To make matters worse, we hear someone knocking on the door.

Oh great. There's a big mess underneath the dishwasher and the directors are at the door. We quickly decided to just throw a bunch of towels onto the mess and hope they don't pick it up or examine it during inspection. Fortunately, it was a brief check and they didn't even go into the kitchen.

-------

Um, what else? Well, there was this one time where a couple of people in my instrument section decided to pour a bottle of bottled water into my friend's instrument.

To make the story short, my friend never noticed anything until we started to play a song. I know it probably doesn't sound funny now, but all of us (even my friend) were really laughing hard while he ended up emptying what seemed like a small pond of water from his instrument.

------

Oh, and how can I forget that time when one of my friends chunked a fast food cup into my other friend's car while we were driving down a street.

Did I mention the cup still had some soda left in it?

----

I probably have some more. That's just all I can think of right now.

The most stupid thing to happen to me happened today. I was listening to a Denver and the MIle High Orchestra song, and I decided to go to DeviantArt to see if a friend replied to my comment, well, instead of typing in deviantart.com, I typed in denverart.com. It's a actual site, BTW. :P

I think I'm starting to become disillusioned by Solid Rock.

One day in good old band, we were all getting ready to play when my band teacher announces that she was just hit in the head with a piece of chalk. Almost the entire band started to laugh because a trouble maker thew it at her and... well it may not be funny to you but it sure is to me :roflol:

That reminds me, I have a concert tonight :o

Stupid: Yesterday I bit my nails really low and then ate a clementine (small, orange-like fruit). My finger hurt a lot not long after finishing it.

Stupid:

I was in the orchestra in 6th grade for a quarter with my friends. One day we found a gluestick on the floor and our orchestra teacher was seriuosly blind or something. Totally oblivious to anything happening in the room. So I took the glue stick and it stuck to the ceiling.

It fell down on this girl's violin while we were playing Ode to Joy. It just kind of full out of nowhere and the girl screamed and dropped her instrument and some of the strings popped out and the violing became scratched. Me and my friend asked to go to the bathroom because we couldn't hold in our laughter.

---

Another time me and my friend were walking down the hallway to fifth period and we pass our old orchestra teacher (same guy) and we were all OMGOMGOMG and started cracking up and I leaned over just as these cute guys were coming around the corner and I leaned too far and fell flat on my butt, still laughing. The guys laughed at me too :/

About a year ago, I was walking my new dog and He started to run after the neighbours cat. Now my dog is GINORMOUS and he pulled me down. For some reason I couldn't get my hand out of the leash so my dog started to pull me across the road. Once my dog got to the tree the cat had ran up, I finally got to my feet and started to limp home(I had cut my knees up pretty bad) As I'm just about home, I see my neighbor and my Mom standing outside laughing at me.
