"Come along, Scruffy," Aary ordered, propping the door open with her foot as she leaned over to grab her rowan staff from where it was leaned against a chair. The brown and white dog bounded over her foot and immediately began frolicking in the pre-dawn light.

Letting the door swing shut behind her, Aary set a course for the stream in the nearby forest. At this hour of the day, the public baths wouldn't be open. She yawned and absentmindedly ran her fingers through her hair, trying to get it to lie flat.

Suddenly Scruffy stopped short, sending Aary stumbling over his back. Standing still, she listened intently for whatever had caused the dog to halt. Through the wind's rustling of the foresty growth, she could make out the sound of many voices conversing. Curiousity piqued, she veered away from the path to the stream and toward the voices. After all, it wasn't that often that there were more than one or two people awake at this hour.

[If, Sir Isaac, you were referring to Jack...]

Jack slid his sword from its sheath, and nudged Zephyer's sides with his heels. His sword drawn, Jack righted himself on Zephyer while his horse trotted towards the voice; Jack said nothing, but stared down at a boy who was holding a horse. He didn't seem armed, nor dangerous, but Jack kept his sword erect, just in case.

Matthew shook his head no. "No, sir. I didn't lose a bet, and it wasn't a dare either... should I go get a horse?" He quieted when he saw that Zeta was dismounting and untying his staff. Matthew frowned slightly, gripping his own tightly.

Then someone else came. This person had a sword, and Matthew didn't know him.

"So, you passed, then." one of Mattia's friend Squires asked her. "Good! I was a bit worried for a second, there."

Mattia shrugged. "It was easy! What I'm worried about is whether or not I'll become a Knight's Squire."

Her friend grinned, clapping her on the back. "I wouldn't worry about it too much, lad. You were one of the top Pages, you'll be picked up in a heart beat..."

Mattia grinned. "You're lying, and you know it."

Her friend shook his head. "No! I'm serious! Have you ever seen yourself with a sword? By golly, you frighten me even looking at you, Matt!"

"Okay, now I know for a fact that you're lying. Thanks, though."

Jack lowered his sword, seeing there were two people in front of him instead of, as he had thought to himself at first, one person. Zephyer faltered slightly in his steps, and Jack pulled on the reins to stop him, sheathing his sword. Patting his horse's neck, Jack pulled the reins around, and Zephyer moved instantly towards the trough, bent his head, and began drinking lavishly.

"Yes white mage, we need your assistance, come hither" Llywelyn waved his arm to the mage and pointed to the unconcious thief.

"He is gravely injured, can you heal him? He is but a child, his death would be a great shame"

Llywelyn looked at the mage expecantly, his understanding of their ways were limited, though he expected that they could do many powerful things.

Pushing her hair back behind her neck, Crystal layed the young man flat on his back, and gathered a few potions onto the ground from her back pack. Mittence stood beside the head, and moved in to lick his face.

"No Mittence, go over there." She pointed just beside her, not to far, but away from the body on the ground.

Openning the young mans mouth, she poured a few of the potions in, and let out a whispered "Heal".

"Give him some time," she started. "He looks really worn out. My potions will work, but he looks very ill. I suppose you could come back to the school with me. Its safe there, and I can look after him for a while."

She glanced at the two other men standing beside the body. "You can come back too...you look hungry"

Jack sighed. He doubted highly whether the voice belonged to a harmless traveller; the 'harmless' in the sentence alerted him to it, but after all, Jack could be wrong. Nevertheless...

Zephyer finished drinking, and Jack moved his right hand from the rein, and onto the hilt of his sword, which was still sheathed. If anything happened, Jack could brandish it quickly, and defend himself.

With his free hand, Jack pulled to the left, and Zephyer wheeled round. Giving his horse a nudge, Jack gripped the hilt of the sword tightly as Zephyer trotted round the wall, coming into full view of the stranger.

[Ah, good. If I was mistaken, I would look a bit silly. o.o]

Nikkia looked up into the sky. "Why am I always alone?" she wondered. She was sick and tired of traveling. She saw someone on the street and ran towards them. "Wait! Stop!" she cried, still running towards the elderly lady. She stopped right in the street and fell onto her knees. "Who am I kidding? No one wants to be around me."

Rhys looked from the girl dressed in white to his lord and spoke: "My lord, you know if we return this boy to the village, they will kill him, he doesn;t deserve to die, he's thin and small and is in need of some attention, I think the school would be better for him. Once they are done they can let him go, hopefully with a more prospective future" Rhys got up and heaved the body over his shoulder.

"My lord, will you come?"
