here's another, but it kind of surprises me that they did this:

Image

For those who don't know, it's from a gag in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The joke was that the knights who say "ni" asked Arthur etc to bring them a shrubbery. "A nice one, not too expensive." Of course, they go and fetch some landscaping to bring back.

The joke of course is that a "shrubbery" is British slang for, well, um, a "lady of the night" so to speak...

Anyhow, that's why it surprises me that neo would do this since they so enjoy freezing people for doing similar things...

These references are a huge part of why I love Neo so much :) It's always exciting and amusing to find a reference to something such as Python or H2G2. Way way back there was a thread on PPT where people were noting all sorts of bizarre references, I wish that still existed -there was a lot of stuff that I had never connected.

There used to be some Monty Python guild...heh I wonder if they're still around and yucking it up over this one. Makes me wish I could go join it, lol. Anyhow, the coconut thing is quite funny even if you don't know about Monty Python.

Yeah that 'shrubbery' reference...heh it is actually a word and they could deny until the end of time what it meant :P I see tons of usernames that use references like that, especially in other languages, and the accounts are old and current and never seem to get frozen. It's probably alright so long as it's obscure and otherwise explained like that, lol.

I LOVE the Monty Python references. :)

I always wished they would have added something about "a dead parrot" on the mutant pawkeet...it would be so fitting. :P

Oh, and before I forget, here is another of my favorite references on the site, from The League of Gentlemen....
