It's not blocked anymore. At least, it's not in shop descriptions or neomail. Matter of fact, I just neomailed my gallery account from my shop account to double-check, and I can see "pinkpt" "PinkPT" and "PPT". I would expect it to be blocked as a full website address, as the last time I checked all offsite addresses were blocked, but it's no longer under any special sort of blocking.

I'm going to agree with what most people have said - I think it's absolute rubbish that TNT dislike PPT, or "hate" us as you put it. Adam posts here in good humour, he chats to us, he recently unfroze one of our members, he good naturedly changed the Pink Poogle Toy description as a humorous rib at us.. I see absolutely no reason whatsoever to assume that tnt don't like us. If they did, why would they come and talk to us so nicely?

I think putting your article on PPT where the staff might see it, in fact writing such an article at all, is going to make people think that what you've said is true, when it's absolute rubbish. I'm sorry to be so harsh but I can see the staff ceasing to come here if they read fabrications like that.

It's an interesting read... but to me it seems like what Nani is trying to achieve is a personal take on the situation... I interpreted "rivarly" as more of a jovial thing... (correct me if I'm wrong).

Nani is quite young yes?

Although Nani... if you ask for advice from people... be prepared to take on board what they say... it's a bit strange when someone asks for advice then argues back o_O

Heh, at least someone is making sense to me. I haven't edited the article since I posted it, and yes the whole "rivalry" thing was more of a "Oh, look, PPT's at it again" sort of thing than a "I wish we had the power to shut down that awful site!" sort of thing. I don't think the Pink Poogle Toy description was anything more than friendly teasing, which is what I tried to express in the article. And I must re-state that I would totally be on the side of PPT if there ever were to be an all-out war between Neopets and PPT (I don' t think there currently is). The article was written more for the non-PPT community wondering what the heck was going on. It was an editorial, but even though I am a strong PPT supporter I tried to explore why some members of TNT felt the way they did. As I have said, I had only one direct source, and I tried to interpret what she said as accurately as possible. If anyone has a conflicting TNT source, I would be happy to edit the article to include their views.

When I asked for constructive criticism, I was looking for more specific comments rather than stuff leaning towards "the general idea is stupid" end of the spectrum.

I guess there's an inherent danger to directly posting this to PPT, in that obviously the people here will feel very strongly in a certain way (pro-PPT). I don't believe there was really anything negative towards PPT in what I wrote, but I'm sorry that I offended some of you and I will try to change the article to use less strong wording.

The point of the article wasn't that PPT is doing anything wrong, or that we should change in any way. I was just saying that I think some staff members misunderstand what goes on here, and that I understand why they feel that way, but I think that they are wrong. Obviously everyone here has misinterpereted my standpoint. And that's probably my fault; in trying to be neutral in my writing it became unclear who I was for. I will try to change it later, probably tomorrow.

I want to work for Neopets too.
Oh, and SL, I'm 12.

Well, if PPT hated TNT, we wouldn't play neopets. I agree that we like to complain, but if we can't do it here, then where can we?

If TNT hated PPT, then they wouldn't come here to chat and fix problems on the site.

There is some tension sometimes with frozen accounts of PPT members and the staff. . .but I think those are personal issues that can be resolved privately. Otherwise, I don't think there's much of a rivalry.

Stuff even happened before the forums went down. It even got nasty here on the boards with some of those people you speak of joining the forums and personally attacking quite a few of the members here. I would know, I was one of them.

I dont have a clue about any of these rows with any of the other fansites, I wasnt here then and I have never been a member of any of them.

I dont personally see any war between ppt and neopets and if there were a 'war' I wouldnt be on any particular side, my view is that I cant have one without the other!

Shees it's really unbelievable. I just can't believe stuff like this happens between people who play on a kid's site! When discussing politics or religion, okay, people get into fights. But between different fansites of an internet pet site???

i think they kinda like ppt. i mean, they changed the caption for the pink poogle toy to something poking fun at us, but in a good-natured way. they probably think we're annoying sometimes, but also useful. when adam posts here it hardly seems like he hates us.

I have to agree with you on it/ I don't think it was intentionally written to sound negative, but some of the wording, when read does give a negative feeling. My advice would be to "open" it up a bit more, not make it quite so... decisive? I guess what I'm saying is not to make it sound quite so harsh. To me it does sound very harsh. Thats all I can really say. I hope it helps... a little bit anyway! :)

I'm sure they respect us. I wouldn't consider the item description or anything else they say about us on Neopets slanderous. Besides, I can only think of one staff member that had a serious problem with us, and that was at least a year ago.

I believe the reason 'PPT' used to be blocked was because we tend to have the answers to a lot of the stuff posted here (such as the Faerie Crossword answers). I also heard something about it preventing us from directly linking to certain parts of the site, such as various dailies, and they wanted to put an end to it.

Rune said it well(oh, when does she not?! <3 ). Seriously though, all places where the power of the overlords does not reach can be considered a breeding ground of hate and continual complaining and we can't not say that we don't complain, heh. It's when we generalise the whole site into this parasitic anti-TNT iste that it becomes an unfair assumption of character. Also kills public opinion, like "spyware"

As for a rivalry, I wouldn't say it is a rivalry, the "Temporarilly blocked" Turned out to be just that, temporary and we seem to be having cool relations with The Neopets Team more than ever(and yes, I admit, that when you squeeze me I complain about glitches and frozen accounts).

Perception plays a big thing in writing articles, it's also the downfall to writing opinion pieces. Like a good piece of art it can sometimes be taken in the wrong way.

In all my time here, I can only remember one problem we've had with TNT, which was just Draco ranting about how we all needed lives. And that was a while ago. Everything else was just with other members of Neopets. They just blocked PPT because people were having fights about the site, and I'm guessing they didn't want the fights. And now apparently it's been unblocked. The item description was just a joke. (though it's quite true :P )

My views on this subject have basically been expressed by others. Since you want constructive criticism, I do have some of that.

When writing an essay of any sort, avoid logical fallacies. Your first sentence is a logical fallacy.

http://www.datanation.com/fallacies/begging.htm

Don't be afraid to see the truth, even if no one wants you to. Be yourself and not a fool. Don't ever be afraid to speak your mind and listen to criticism. Dissent is keeps our country progressive and willingness to challenge yourself is what keeps yourself ever evolving.
