It's early yet over there. Does Neo even have 24hour tech staff? They might not even be aware there's been a problem, partial shutdowns are automated for things like over consumption of bandwidth or critical errors.

I think they send a lot of database work out to server farms anyway, problems like this may be out of direct control.

They have 24 hour staff to monitor the site (I've received neomails about it before) so they'll definately know about the glitches by now. Any glitches that happen "over-night" sometimes get fixed when its not a practical NST so I assume they have tech staff pretty much around the clock too. I could be wrong but those are my assumptions :)

Well, having staff and having oncall/24 hour tech staff capable of fixing large errors or database crashes are two entirely different things. If the site really breaks overnight, it probably won't be fixed until the morning. Weekends still sometimes bring problems... and I doubt that's just due to increased server load.

Hence why they are my assumptions. The fact that glitches have been fixed over-night before makes things hopeful :) Yes, if the entire site crashed completely it would probably have to be done during the day solely because they'd need the entire staff to work on it. This glitch seems like many others that have happened before. How long it may take for a tech team to fix the site though at any time of the day or night is a completely different issue altogether.

Shoot! It's down again. And I was *almost* on my way to killing the Miner Foreman. :x But then again, I'd rather they take it down than lose something in a glitch. Not that I really have anything to lose...

Once again, can I say Thank You for this wonderful forum? If it wasn't for coming here first and finding out what's up (or down) I'd be soooo clueless (more than I usually am).

I know that they were going to be using some off-site server company, and there have been problems off and on, but I thought they had been taken care of ... until the new sidebar/topbanner. That seems to have done something wierd.

I only hope that they keep the site down until everything is really, truly, 100% fixed. No sense in the "it's up ... no, it's down" stuff, which is more frustrating for most of us and can't help them get things done with people trying to use the site.

Oh, DM I've had that on the main page - I've also had the main page just not load at all. This must be a big down for maintenance, though, as usually the front page does load. What I usually check for when the site's up and down is the stock market thing. If it's at 0, then I assume the site's down and don't even bother trying to log in.

As far as techs, etc. I, like the rest of you, have no idea what the story is re: hours, availability. We all know that the site has this "wonderful" tendency to go down on weekends. How many months of every weekend another big glitch have we all been through?

I will also say that it is still early in California, it's only around 10 a.m. there. So as much as we all want to get on the site and check our pets, inventory, sdb, shops and galleries, we need to be patient and give the staff a chance to find out what's going on and get it fixed. I'd much rather have it just be down and stay down until all is well and everything is back than have it up and down or worse, up but losing things left and right.

Argh! The one time I get the good computor, Neo is down! :x I don't like making NP on the other one... And they better not touch my SDB...

Well, it probably saved me from losing my NP, so I guess I should be thankful.
