Wait! I've got one!!

I remember the days when I actually got random events where a dumb little chia didn't tell me to send a neopet to a friend.
pft. What a cheap way to get more members. I'm on to you, ENT!

I've played Neo for a little over 3 years and it was completely different from what it is today. There were fewer people, items were in reasonable price ranges, and Neopets was a fair game.

Now its crowded which slows down the website, people are rude, items are inflated, and TNT loves to flame us up by being unpredictable with the items. (example retiring it after only one day).

Honestly, in my opinion, I think that Neopets has tried to reroute the game these past months to make it more challenging. They saw how easy it was for some to complete galleries, save up np....etc. So with adding R100 and changing the shops up a bit...They figure this way the players will continue to play to "try" to complete their gallery.

Just another cruel joke I guess..

About the merchandising...I think that greed and money has clouded them and they lost the true meaning of why they started this game. If anything they should be really pleasant to the players and treat them with the utmost respect. Afterall if it wasnt for us, they wouldnt be where they are today.

I collect Usukis. PM me if you are selling the following: Jeran Usuki, Lord Kass Usuki, Bat Thing Usuki, Zafara Double Agent Usuki or Queen Fyora Usuki Doll.

I came in a bit before the war in the Lost Desert...I think it was in June of 2001.

Things certainly have changed and not for the better

I've been playing Neopets for nearly three years now. Back then, it was incredibly well run and there were very few glitches. But when more people started coming, it seemed like TNT stopped caring as much as they used to.

I remember the old Chia.
(A Yellow Chia was my first pet... I think I still have the picture I drew of it when I joined upstairs.)
I remember playing Kacheek Seek most of the time since it was the only good game.
Games I remember:
I remember Omelette Defender.
I remember Techo Says.
I remember Whack-a-Beast.
I remember Faerie Caves.
I remember Ice Caves.

My friend remembers NeoDJ.

All I have to say is neopets has changed alot since May 31st 2001.
No purple chia on the neocam anymore or neopets visor adds.
Sorta sad when you think about it.
I wish neopets would go back to 2001.
Everything was more fun then.

My old account is 34 months old, so I guess I would be considered an oldbie. I really do miss the "good 'ole days", and there's not much more I can say than that.

Yeah, I'm a 46-monther so I've been around a little while, not as long as some people around here though..

I've said in the past that I really like how it is.. but as of right now, I really miss how it used to be. NP was so hard to earn, but that made the whole thing more fun, I think.. :( Oh well..

My first account was around the Tyrannian War, my gallery came two months after that, and then my first account was scammed and I made a third around the time the Lost Desert was released, which is now my active account. And yes, the site was a lot better back then. They'd finish everything in relatively good time, the site wasn't borderline of nauseatingly cutesy, the site ran faster, and there were less people that you would want to avoid.

I was on Neopets around the first space plot (August 2000) until I decided to quit for a couple years and return in time for the first Meridell plot (July 2002.) My oldest account is 45 months old for the record.

They had just released Mystery Island and it was primarily a sponsor only thing at the time (you had to get totems from sponsor offers) Codestones were cheap compared to now (the Battledome/Training School were a pipe dream.)

The game has changes severely from the time I last logged in in my oldest account, in some respects for the worst. Nowadays you are lucky enough to get a responce from support in a week or two, when I remember you could get one in a day at the latest.

I've been around since August 2000 (so almost four years now). Neopets has changed a LOT -- some things for the better, like better art and more games, and some things for the worse, like mass freezings and too much merchandising. I love being able to buy a lupe plushie or a little figurine, but I'm sick of TNT promoting trading card games and whatnot on the new features page of the site. I feel like they're beating us over the head with it. I understand they need to make money, especially now when not many websites are actually profitable, but they're doing it at the expense of their members -- and that's not cool at all.

And don't even get me started on the glitches and the fact that they pretend nothing's going on.

I've had my say about the staff:

Read the first post. If I make myself rant about it again, I'll probably give myself an aneurism.

I was on when they were first asking for beta testers for the battledome. I remember theme parks and when you could still buy stocks below 15 pts and when books didn't disappear after you read them. . .

Things they could improve:
-less downtime
-a separate gallery shop
-automatic bank interest
-np compensation for battledome wins
-in general, more np for games
-more random event w/ faeries and lab map pieces
