Nothing good has come to me from the lab either.. I wanted a Mutat/Maraquan draik REALLY REALLY REALLY BAD. How bad you ask? I had a green drak i zapped it for 2 months with some bad color changes until i got Darigan color. It was pretty cute. but the FINAL day i decided to just zap one more time and never zap him again..... he turned into a chia I hate the lab ray now!!

I've got the lab map for the sake of having it at the moment. I don't really want to risk zapping my two pets, I don't battle, so stats aren't really an issue. My Kougra is already the colour I want him to stay (Christmas, unless the Christmas revamp turns out to be hideous), and my Ixi will be painted someday, when I get around to it.
For now I'm content with having two pets. But I want to use the ray, so I have a revolving adopted pet. I adopt pets, and lab them until they're painted, and then give them away.

If and when I decide I want a permanent pet, I'll just have one that I'll keep labbing until it's something very nice that I like. And then I'll start the revolving lab rat thing again in the fourth slot.

If you wait long enough, you'll get good colors... but it can take ages. My lupe turned into lots of ugly colors (the lab ray seems to like making him into basic Nimmos, Flotsams and Tuskaninnys, for some reason). But over about two years of zapping, he's also been:

I could have stopped at most of those colors and they would have been worth more than the lab ray cost (of course, it cost me less than 100k because I bought it a long time ago). I remorphed and painted him back into a white lupe, though, after a couple months of bad zaps.

Lab made me mad this summer, I'd been zapping my Kougra for over a year, then when I was semi-happy with his stats I spent 1.4 mil to morph him back to a Kougra and paint Darigan... less than a week later, LESS THAN 7 ZAPS LATER, my new lab rat turned into a Darigan Kougra I said many many words not fit for little ears haha. Grrr still makes me angry when I think about it, my computer's not fit for restocks or auction sniping, so I earned all that from games.
But yeah, I'd say the Lab is worth it overall. My lab rat now is going to be zapped until if/when he turns into a male robot Lupe. ^^ Yeah that's gonna be a while... currently a rainbow Cybunny.

I will keep zapping till I'm happy...I want my rainbow acara back though...it'll take awhile.
right now I have a split quiggle...it's kinda oogly.

I've gotten heaps of nice pets from the lab ray:

grey jubjub, spotted cybunny, spotted kougra, halloween cybunny, rainbow jetsam, silver shoyru, faerie uni, and more I can't remember.

It's also good for stats. I raised my lenny's hp to over 130 just from the lab, and strength etc. over 50. It generally raises stats more often that drops, so I believe its worth it.

I have two Lab Maps, one on my main account and one specifically to zap pets for fun and then adopt them out to people.

The one on my main account gave me my Darigan Peophin, so I'd say it's more than paid for itself. (It also gave me a Darigan Zafara, but I'm not sure I'm going to leave him that way forever.)

Right now I'm zapping my main pet on that account for stats. I've found that I'm not totally happy feeling like my permanent pets -- the ones on my main account -- are in a state of flux, though. So once she hits 150 hp I think I'm going to morph her back into an Eyrie and then lay off the Lab on that account, at least for a while.

Since it costs me 15k+ for just one stat at the Training School, I'm now using nothing but the Lab Ray and Kitchen Quests. And the occasional Faerie Quest. But now I'm not doing anything with my old lab pet, and I'm in a bit of a quandry over what to do with him. . .

i have it on 2 accounts and i'll definitely say its worth it!

i am not a rich person, so to train through the acedemy and training school would have been extremely painful. and i have gotten extemely good color from it including:

so if you are interested in colors, i like the variety, i wish however that you could get the ice bori, or royal or baby from it, save me the nps and i could never have done this without the lab ray

and its given me some pretty disgusting things, but sooner or later it gets better

I've been using lab rasy on the same pet for about 95 days (I keep a log ) and errmmm, well it hasn't been going so well. Beast colour I've had was a COloud Flotsam, but since I hate cloud and hate flotsams, I kept on zapping.

Now when it comes to stats, the lab wasn't too kind either. Defense as usual is pathetic. HP is great, strength.....meh alright. As for level... no comment

It all depends on what you want the lab for. If you're looking for a cheap way to paint your pets, then lab is kinda tough, since it almost never changes your pet into something you want. As for stats, although it may seem kinda crap in the short term, in the end it does end up raising your stats, some more than others *cough* HP *cough*

I've been labbing for quite a while, and the best colour I've had was the Maraquan Korbat. Only had him 2 days, then he was a brown korbat (Ewww).
Currently, he's a striped uni. But I also have a Rainbow Wocky, a Blue Jetsam (current lab pet), and a Starry Poogle.

My wife had only been playing for 2 days when I decided to buy her the full lab map. Cost me 500k, but its worth it to see her face when her pets change into really great colours that she never knew existed, like cloud.

... and he changes colour to Pink!!
I can't see a difference between red. Anyway, i've gotten a few good colours from the lab.

OMG, the darigan draik is like one of the coolest pets in the game (not to mention highly expensive to obtain). It must be terrible to lose him.

I've started zapping my 1st lab rat when he (she? I can't remember now) became a gold gelert. Now I'm zapping a 2nd pet, and he (yeah, I'm quite sure he's a male today) became a red poogle a couple of days ago. What I'd love is a MSPP, but I can't have too much...
Rarest color I ever had is halloween buzz, I think.

I got a Faerie Kougra from it, so I'd say it's beneficial. My poor little kacheek has got 84 attack and 33 defence. Ah well.
