lol be careful, with the way neo is run he might accidentally flake himself!

I just want cold, hard cash to make up for what I lost, it'd take me a lot less time to deal with a few thousand np than my 400 items.

*pokes* *steals it from glitch land, and pours it on him* Thats about 700k down the drain. Then again there aren't even any on the trading post.

Fiddely: *applauds* You say the words many other oldskool Neopets players have been meaning to say for a very long time.
As for missing items, glitches galore and the inability to put my pets in the Neolodge/Feed them without having an "OOPS! You've been directed here because your security settings are off!" page pop up, I've had all that and then some in the last four months.
Why are we all complaining? On a 56kbps connection, games and one-off restocks become your life on Neopets. If you can't afford Broadband (like a good 200 - 400 thousand other Neopets players), then the site's glitches affect you more than the average Neopian with Broadband (though we're all affected the same way by the dratted server dropouts, so-called "maintenance" and glitch central station). I've only ever snagged 3 - 5 good r90 items from the shops, these bring in the majority of my NP over the last 12 months. Now I'm reduced to one odd item every 3 months. I dunno if it's just my bad luck to be restocking at 2am Eastern Standard Australian Time on weekends, or it's just because Neopets seems to be blocking 56kbps connections from the rest of the world, but I'm getting rather sick of restocking a GREAT r99 item and having Kauvara's code take 1000 years to LOAD on my connection. And by the time it DOES load, the item is GONE.
This sound familiar to other people on 56kbps?
The Neolodge's glitch a month or so back was rather disturbing as well. Did Neopets decide to tell us of the glitch affecting the Neolodge? Not ****** likely! We put our pets in the Lodge because we're either busy, going off on holidays or just for fun. Our pets were down to starving because Neopets couldn't take the proper time to -address- the glitch and fix it.
And what about the shop database transferral? 2 days my tail end, TNT! It's Wednesday, Australian time, and I STILL can't reprice my shop because "Oh! Your shop is still in the old database!" *rolls eyes* It's been approx. 5 days since they announced the database transferral, and I've seen little to no results of it. Buying items from a user shop is bad enough (with the NP inflation scam that some users still think it hilariously funny to use) without having to lose both your NP AND the item in question due to "Username _________ doesn't appear to have a shop!" - Morningstar, I feel your pain, hon - been there, done that, lost about 50k to this glitch over the last 3 days or so.
Trades and Auctions are suffering the brunt of the glitchfield too. With the server rollback, people are being stuck with the items they traded 2 days beforehand and a loss of NP attached to the ones they traded with. The NP, the hard earned NP we spend in order to trade with others is simply vanishing into thin air with only the response of "We cannot return items, NP and pets" from TNT. Uh huh...so why is it the richer Neopians cried and got practically everything back, ne? It seems TNT values the more "prominent" Neopians who "got to know them" at the very start. "Got to know them"? I think m' baseball bat would prefer to get to "know them" up close and personal for how many pets, items and NP I've lost over the last 3 years or so...
The rest of Neopia is starting to glitch up worse - maps and the side toolbar are refusing to appear even when the page is refreshed; items are being displayed as red x's (more often than not these days); oh, and has anyone tried to log-in only to discover that the window fails to load...but when you open a new window and try again, it has the decency to WORK? Oddly, this has been happening for over 6 months. It's not my computer doing it as I once thought it to be, but the site itself. A blocked connection? I'm not even sure why it happens, but it does. And when you're in a hurry, it's a downer to have the window fail on you.
All TNT care about now is the money they make. Neopets toys are overpriced (yes, it took me this long to work that out!) and all they care about is bringing in the "new generation" players with their "McDonalds Promotion".
My kid nephew recently lost his account for "exploiting a glitch" - my nephew is 10 years old, intelligent enough NOT to fall for something that is too good to be true, and has only been on for 7 months. He was trading a Ghost Petpet Paint Brush on the TP at his friend's place (selling it for about 75k - the kid's not a greedy soul) and they freeze him for "exploiting a glitch"? HOW?! He got the Paint Brush through a Random Event - HOW is this a GLITCH? Did TNT change the rules for younger players?!
Having to explain to him that TNT froze him for no good reason's not easy. He lost his three pound adopted pets (a Mutant Scorchio, a Silver Shoyru and a Starry Scorchio [who was painted via a Fountain Faerie Quest]) and a few hundred k in NP (which took him a while to earn, no assistance from me either). He's already sent various reports to TNT but no dice. I'm not holding out hope for the kid because the way TNT is now, he'll be lucky to get a non-automated response from them. For the moment, he watches me play Neopets and asks the same question I asked myself way back when when I first got frozen for no good reason...
"Why me?"
It's a question most of us are asking of ourselves when TNT say "You've been frozen for blah blah blah reason" and you never did what they claimed you did...
If TNT had the grace to respect us, perhaps the occasional glitch-up like the Neolodge could be ignored. But this is getting to be utterly ridiculous. I've tried being patient in the hopes they'll do something about the site going to hell and back, but nothing's been done about it.
Bug Reports are one thing, but when will they actually start taking notice of them...?
Wonder when that'll be? The next Big Bang, maybe? *rolls eyes*

You know, I've decided, that if I'm still playing Neopets by the time my son is old enough to start his own account, I'm just going to walk away... I don't want to explain to him if he loses an account that he's worked so hard on that Neopets is an unfair game, because I've been there myself.
Even if it is
is just a game, a kid as young a 4 or 5 isn't going to understand that. All he's going to see is that Neopets must surely hate him for them to have taken his account away for something he didn't do, and why can't
I make it all better? No. I'd rather just walk away. Even the idea of it's too much.

Marrinai-- I feel utmost sympathy for you in having to explain this unfairness to your nephew. I had to wipe the tears from my 11-year-old daughter's eyes last December when she was frozen for giving away gifts on the chat boards--all because she had felt "richer" than others and wanted to do a good deed by giving away some Christmas presents--no strings attached. I got the account back but only after about 30-40 hours of research and writing a really convincing letter filled with defensive arguments (I've been to law school--arguing is one of the things I do best--just ask my husband

). But, we were lucky. I know lots of others who also did nothing wrong and are still frozen.
I don't know what the answer is. I don't know if Neopets execs will ever figure it out. Hopefully, the site won't die before they figure it out.
If I lost everything, I would probably quit outright--but so far, even though I've lost about a million nps to glitches in the past year, I have never lost everything. It's like I keep getting shot in the foot and then the foot heals so I keep on playing. Although, I must say in the past few days, I haven't played a tenth of what I normally play and have instead become addicted to some msn games--zuma is my favorite.
I wish the McDonald execs could read what we are writing. I feel that those are the only people who might convince the Neopets execs to change their ways.

Hey Morningstar, I wonder if McDonalds has a website that has a good contact us link on it? Because maybe we should send them a copy of the thread with a good arguement about why they shouldn't fund Neopets in the future? Maybe having McDonalds refuse Neopets and give them the reason why might wake the exec's up?

That's...not a half-bad idea. *thinks* There's a McDonald's HQ office a short bus ride from where I live, perhaps it's time to notify the Australian side of things about what Neopets truly are?
I'll look into the contact information for around the world in the meantime...

I have two friends that work at a McDonalds. They ought to know something, all the stores must have to keep in contact somehow.

I hear all of you, empathize and sympathize. The well known "famous" players do seem to get everything back when there's a problem, glitch, whatever. They also get unfrozen even when they do something wrong. The rest of us? So much fodder for the money mill.
by the way,
http://www.mcdonalds.com is the official site, they do have a contact us link  I have no idea how effective or efficient it is. I went there looking for nutritional information on the adult "healthy" happy meals, then looked at regular kid happy meals and was not amused by what I saw.

McDonalds site
There are three ways to share a comment, question, complaint or praise with McDonald’s.
Here's the one that might actually have something for us...
The snail mail addy.
McDonald’s Corporation
McDonald’s Plaza
Oak Brook, IL 60523
I wonder how they'd respond with their own inbox flooded with Neopets fan's who feel that Neopets doesn't fit the McDonald's Social Image?
Edit: As for how much good it will do? Dunno unless we try.

Oh my gosh, I thought it was my computer! I went and used my hubby's computer and it did it there too. Thought it wast just a connection thing on my end. It wasn't the logon page tho, it was the shop wizard.

i thought from earlier opinions i got from this forum that implementing Kauvaras code has made the restocking field more even? personally, i thought otherwise. even with a broadband, the code always appear last to load and it always take like 1/2 sec to 2 sec to load. i can imagine it is more worse for players with slower connection. moreover, this code doesn't seem to stop autobuyers anyway..as many other have realised.
then there is the matter that my window always hangs (not responding) when i am playing neopets. at first i thought it was my pc and proceed to defragmentate, sweep, anti-popup or whatever but it doesn't help. then i heard from other neofriends that they are having the same problem.

It's good to hear that from someone else. I thought it was my computer. Since I only go to Neopets and PPT mostly with a couple other sites o the side, I thought it was me. I rebooted, cleared my cache, reinstalled IE, reinstalled Windows, and the problem didn't clear. I would be going great, then the pages would just start going extremely slowly and stop loading. I just don't understand how they can make so much money and not fix glitches that prevent people from using their site appropriately.

I'm with you, Jasujo. I honestly thought my computer was lacking. I got a cable modem because I thought it was my internet connection that was too slow for Neopets. Turns out, it was the other way around.

My window hangs all the time when I play Neopets. Other sites are fine, so I know it's them. It's very irritating when I'm trying to restock.
