That is so awesome! Adam, how is that possible! I thought you said it would be too much for the clock to be real time.

I LOVE this new sidebar haha!

I honestly didn't see how it would be impossible. All they needed was some sort of thing that was tied into their server clocks and then just did the time. There are multiple ways of doing it, 1: syncing it with the server clock so that the little bar refreshes every second, 2: using a plugin to make it follow the clock... many ways.

Edit: Oh, and by the way, with the new handy dandy clock, I have proven that restocks have nothing to do with seconds. They can come any time during the minute, not just on the minute.

And yes, I like the clock very much, it'll be handy, if not just for the fun of having a clock that keeps itself updated. Good job on it!
(it'll help out big time with my Lab Ray testing :D )

Ooooh, I like the real time clock a lot. I don't even restock, but it's really nice to have there anyway. [thumbs up]

Ugh, I wish that I could have gotten in on the beta. This is going to make RSing so much different than it is now. :( Oh well, at least it will be easier to check the time now. lol

Well when I asked him Adam said:

Quote:
Clock cannot be realtime, it would just be too much HTML code to include on every page, we'd add about a K to the pageload which makes it slower over a modem. Besides, we do 3000 pageviews a second - every byte adds onto our bandwidth bill

But I guess they found a different way...

I LOVE the new clock!! :o It's not even slowing loading on my dial up :D Good job Snarkie!! (or whoever made it work) It's GREAT :) It'll give me more chance in auctions since I have a slow connection... Yup, setting that clock up would really help those of us on dial ups :) Both on restock and auctions.

Finally I can say not everything on the site benefits faster connection users ;)

i thought they were never going to have ads advertising off-site products? (in relation to the other board that was locked)

that is something you would expect from a amature site hosted by geocities or something, not a huge place like neo
frankly, i'm appalled.

"i'm filling empty spaces
where you left your mark
take two steps back from all of this
remember what you started with
it was nothing at all..."

Proven it where? I have gotten my RS shop down to when it restock by 3 second. <_<

I know the exact time to refresh and when to stop. I know restocks don't happens every minute, but my time gives me just enough time to refresh and stop without worrying about getting banned.

Lol, it freaked me out, I was just headed to the shrine to get a dubloon and suddenly my clock started ticking...

I'm not sure i like how jumpy it is though. sometimes it goes slow, then scurries to catch up, and the whole clock display has to refresh with every second.

It freaked me out too. I was on the phone with my boyfriend, and then I suddenly went:
"Oh my GOD! This thing's moving!"
And he had no idea what I was talking about.

The clock is fine for me, but like Armi said, it goes: "07, 08, 9, 10". That poor little lonely 9 makes the whole clock jitter. Give it a zero before my head explodes! **freaks out**

Sorry..

Ok, something I didn't notice until I was taking a gloating screenshot:

There's a stray pixel in the shadow of the top bar, to the left. It occurs on every page. It's making me batty, lol. It's just another lost pixel from Neoquest!

(In case anyone doesn't get that, search for the item "Escaped Pixel".)

There used to be a white gap when I went to my shop and now it's been fixed. I say Kudos....and now I go to sleep.

The clock will affect Coltzan's shrine a lot - Going at 55 seconds past the minute/hour (Can't remember :P) gets you a Dubloon etc...

After reading vinyl's post, I had to go look for that locked topic, as I had no idea what that was about. It's this topic, right? http://www.pinkpt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7829 Snapfish Eek Scary Off-site type ads? I mean I do understand they need sponsors to help pay for things, but "real life" type ads? Doesn't this kind of break their own rule of not posting outside commercial sites/outside links? Are these ads clickable - sending you to those sites? Bleh, thinks of the tracking cookies that usually are in that type of banner ad. Hope they've not allowed those on the site!

I have been trying to access the premium.neopets.com area to check to see if you can just get the portal, but every time I go, it says blah blah blah beta testing, not available but to check back. So I still don't know if I can just get the portal - nothing else, and if that portal applies to just one account or all accounts on a specific email (wondering for people who have more than one account).

I can't seem to be able to play Wheel of Knowledge since I got the new tool bar. It always says this:

Is that a bug? Or is it just me?
