Isn't the whole Portal/premium access thing supposed to be helping with the costs of running the site? (when it's fully released) And if so, why do you still need to have huge sponsor banners?
Or will people with premium/portal not have those banners show up?
No sponsor banners will show up to premium/portal users at all evah.
Dont quote me on that, it may change, that is the idea though...

I've noticed that although you fixed the Events icon so that it shows the text when you hover over it, so far it's only working for the Neomail notifications. When someone sends me an item, I still have to click on "Show All" to see what it is. I don't know about the Auction results notification, since I haven't traded anything lately. I'm using Netscape 7, based on the Mozilla 5 engine.
Things seem to be working great, except I had to empty my cache last night, and it took forever to load the pages on dial-up.

Neo is truly going pay-to-play, you realise that?
And does that mean those of us who tested the portal and got to keep it won't see ads, or only the people who have fallen into the trap of commercialism and actually PAID TO GET AN ADVANTAGE ON NEO?

Do they have to sign up for each account (sees money adding up there). If it's not too expensive, I will get something (like maybe better support?) and no huge ads, I would consider it. I didn't and still don't like the whole premium thing "giving an advantage" to players who have it. Most people with it have said to not bother to be honest, that they were most likely going to cancel it.
Oh, btw, there really should be a premium link on the site - there's not one I can find to do some more reading up on this and it has been awhile since I've looked into it.

I was thinking the same thing (pay for play) ... I did not get to test the portal, and at the time I really thought it was not a biggie - I have a home page already, can't use any other toolbars with my ISP - it's jealous! plus most really DO have hidden trackers in them - tried this with yahoo - my Spybot went nuts finding stuff.
I also have NO interest in having an @ neomail.com email or the ISP (really bad privacy issues, plus I've heard it's not all that reliable).
