Soccer moms have minivans. Although that doesn't help the conversation along in the least.

Well guys, it's been fun. But college awaits.

I can't believe it's 8:00 am and I haven't slept, but fiddled with the new sidebar instead all night long.

At least I only have one class, if I can survive it then I can make like a zombie and fall asleep. ;)

Anyhow, thanks for the chance to help out and for listening to us today. This was fun, we should do it again next time you have something to mess with.

Bye!

OH! I suddenly remembered something I meant to mention earlier.

I reallly love the stars in the background of the top part of the bar, any chance those would ever be extended across the entire bar? They're nice and shiny.

Also, I love the Haunted theme, and I love the idea of themes in general, but I'm still curious to know if solid colour themes will be available?

Like blue for example?

If themes are going to be aquireable in the same way as avatars, perhaps 10-12 solid colour themes could be readily available, with the more elaborate themes available as they're found (like Neoboard avatars).

And I, personally, have already been frozen once in the past for "cheating" on a flash game simply because my computer was too slow and it looked like I was using a cheat program. I've since been unfrozen and have been okay since then, but I know these new ads are going to slow my computer down even more and I'm afraid of being frozen again. Is there any way you could do as people have suggested and have a low-bandwith setting for people with slow computers where we could choose to view html ads instead?

This problem is the most pressing for me, personally. I had the same exact experience of being frozen for "cheating at flash games" in March 2003, when the problem was simply an older CPU. I'm scared to death that running two flash ads while playing a flash game will result in even slower CPU speeds. I've come up with a possible solution though. After the game loads, I'll just go to a site with no banners or flash, then come back to Neo when I submit my score.... :P

i'm with that. i've managed to turn off the flash banners in the browsers i use, but when i'm not at home, and log on at at cafe or something they do slow down the page.

plus i haven't figured out to to turn them off on my other computer, and they do slow down the CPU, so i'm rather scared of playing on that computer. which isn't good, because thats the one actually in my room, xD

as for the mullet paint brush, *buys ten million invisible paint brushes* if i do not see it, it does not exist ;)

Hehe, I get to see them across the entire top anyway because my banner is blocked

I just want to thank you guys for the awesome amount of feedback you peeps have been taking, digesting and working on for this project.

Besides the obvious minor things that you guys have already tackled and brought up to snuff, I can't see any huge, gigantissimo, apocalyptic, Richard Simmonsy problems.

Rock On!

Should have made myself clearer... I meant having the stars down the left side bar too.

Ah, down the side too, well, I think it would look too busy that way though.

Well, I had asked to be a test subject, but didn't get in ... so I'm depending on ss at this point.

The sidebar issue I've read some people are having - that they'll have to change theirs, is not really that big of an issue to me. Time consuming maybe ... but doable.

I do hope this doesn't affect all of us who have entered the Lookup of the Week before changes are made:)

Please, please please do something about that top banner. It's absolutely horrible for lookups, just ruins them. And in general, I'm a person on dial up (slow computer), half the time the small ads either don't show up or lock my computer up. So with 2 ads - one of them at the top and huge, well...

then there is the physical problem - for me and others. Disabled/impaired people are really at a disadvantage, to say the least.

I will wait until I can actually see first hand on my account what this looks like, ss are good, but not quite the same as the "real thing". I'm not feeling very hopeful at the moment though as large flashing, moving ads on other sites have triggered severe vertigo. I don't know of a way to turn those things off on this computer.

I know how you feel -- flash banner ads have triggered several migraines and a couple of vertigo attacks for me this past year. Several others' have mentioned that the Opera browser lets you turn off flash. And I guess we could look into using the banner blocker programs. At least with animated HTML ads, both Netscape and IE users can choose to let the animation loop once, or even never.

I'm not even a migraine sufferer and the thing is giving me headaches. I guess I'll look for a banner blocker. Would it affect flash games?

It doesn't really seem like we're being listened to in our requests for testdom, does it? (btw, I fell off my chair today in uni. Lotsa weird looks). Then again, Neopets hasn't ever clearly claimed to be disability-friendly...

I also have problems with migraines triggered by flashing, colourful things. I can't play faerie racers either, can't watch any of the wheels turning, and Meerca chase turns into a nightmare. The one time I played evil fuzzles, I ended up in bed for the rest of the day with my computer off and the blinds down. I can usually get around Neopets fine if I keep away from these ads, but...it's very hard to ignore the top one. And I can imagine that there are probably a lot of people out there who suffer the same way.

I think I could live with the top banner if it were purely static. Or if I could go into options and turn it purely static. Or if I could turn it into text ads. But not dancing flashy colourful things that may be cute but if they catch me unawares will send me to bed with a painkiller that could knock an elephant out.
