Hmmm. I don't really have many complaints. I'm on high speed DSL, so I can't complain about slow loading. I use IE, so I have no problems there. My screen is 800 x 600, and there's just a small increase in scrolling amount, it's bearable.
The top banner doesn't even bother me. The fact that the bar curves around that far makes the whole page look much more complete, like a perfectly packaged gift. It's shiny too.
It would be nice for the Username/Active Pet (Quick Ref.)/NP info/links could be moved upward, as shown here:

Still working on the Battledome. It takes a bit more time. But I'll put it up when I'm done.

Now is it just me or is that new tool bar simply don't like me?
I never had that problem before.... Yup, the new one is slow for me, by quite a bit too....Is it my browser or what?

Unfortunately for me I don't have the new side-bar because I didn't get on in time to sign up but some general comments for the IDB fallout shelter topic
A lot of people fear the top banner will be used for advertising. The large banner at the top is frustrating enough and having a giant ad adds to the annoyance
The world button being a star doesn't make much sense in my opinion. Explore being a star kind of did as you can explore outer space etc
Is there any way we could have three general icons (or at least one) with no URL but instead we could choose one Neopets.com URL to link on it. That way we could have a button on the side bar linking to places like the Shop Wizard, Favourite Rsing shop, A daily etc
As it has been pointed out before the larger ad can be annoying in a scrolling sense for games like NQ II where people want to be able to easily see their health on each new page

He did state in one of the previous threads that the top banner will have sponsor ads, so that fear has been confirmed.

Well I've played a few games to see whether it would slow my AMD-K6 (Pentium II clone) CPU down significantly with 2 Flash ads going at the same time. It doesn't seem to make much difference. Call me paranoid, but I'm still a little nervous about the possibility that 2 flash ads playing at the same time as a flash game might slow down older computers even more. I know some people have been frozen recently because their slow CPU's were mistaken for 'cheat programs' or something.
Have I suggested lately about offering a low-bandwidth version with HTML ads and a high-bandwidth version with Flash ads, lol???

I'm sorry, we don't have much choice in that regard. At least Neopets is still free after 5 years.
I will make sure that it is kept to the absolute minimum though... the yellow bar has 1 in 8 non-neopets related adverts, the top bar will probably be similar.

I think Adam mentioned that the world button would be changed completely, and the star is just a temporary icon.
As for the customisable button, wouldn't it be just the same as making your own bookmarks? I have all my dailies and frequented places (such as the shop wizard, trading post) bookmarked for easy access.

How can you not have much choice, though? Is there no other way to put more advertising on the site rather than a huge in your face moving banner at the top of the screen?
It's kind of giving me a headache :/
I agree, its great that the site is free, but we have sponsor games and the sidebar already. And the shop of offers. this is kind of advert overload. Advertise that you can get 100np daily from the shop of offers and im sure you'll get more people going there to click the slorgs and see the ads.

Oh well - We can't complain really when we think of the countless amounts of hours we spend on Neo for absolutely nothing

That is the industry standard size
