I just got the lab scientist after months of refreshing and would like to make a screenie of it, but I don't know how to. Any help would be appreciated.

There should be a button somewhere on your computer keyboard with the word "PrtScn" on it, if you go to the page you want and then hit that button, it should save the screenshot into the Ctrl+V. From there you just have to go into some sort of graphics program (even Paint will do the job) and Paste it. Hope that helps :)

1) Press "Print Screen" on your keyboard (it should be after the F12 button, or at least the same row) when you are on the screen you want to print. Make sure you have the image you want to capture in the window (and not scrolled down or something)

2) Open Paint or any graphics programme and paste your picture there (Ctrl-V)

3) Save the picture, preferably in JPEG format since it is smaller and most image servers only accept small pictures in that format.

4) Find an image server an upload your picture.
http://www.photobucket.com/ is quite user-friendly.

I use a program called screenhunter I downloaded form download.com. It gives me really crystal clear picts and I can chooses only the area I want, or whole windows, and even whole screens. You can choose to have it open in a favorite program or save instantly into gif, bmp, or jpg.

I would meekly recommend it.

Thank you for that tip, Stampsyne. My computor won't let me change (on Paint) to any other format then bmp, so I downloaded a trial of Paint Shop Pro. Unfortunately, that's only for 60 days, so one day, I'm going to have to find some other thing that will let me do jpg and gif. And that will work.

If you need a free image program that won't expire try GIMP. It is what I use because I'm a poor college student... Anyway, it is a little complicated, but once you get the hang of it, it isn't too bad.

I'm finally back for the summer, although hopefully I'll spend a little more time away from this screen.

Thanks everyone for your help :) But I'm using a notebook computer, and after I click the prt sc key it won't let me paste it onto paint :( Any idea why that might happen?

Sometimes the "PrtScn" key doesn't actually automatically take a screencap. Do you have an "F Lock" key? If you do try tapping that one and then pressing "PrtScn" - its just a matter of getting the "F Lock" on the right (positive or negative) setting to have "PrtScn" work :)

If that doesn't work, try using Alt + V instead of CTRL + V. That's what I have to do.

I guess my computors commands are different or something...

Also, just make sure the Window you want to take the screencapture of is actually selected. Just click on the top bar to ensure that it is. I sometimes found that (particularly if you're using) Alt+PrtScn it can pose a problem if the Window isn't selected.
