I recently started playing Neopets again (like this morning), under a new account. I haven't played it in so many months that essentially, I'm a typical new player again.

I was wondering whether the returns on the Wheel of Knowledge are worth it? Not short-term or potential returns, but on the whole, long-term scale, would a person profit from playing it or lose money? I'm not entirely keen to play it if it's going to be a long-term loss, especially since I don't have any money.

You can get some pretty good prizes on it (like Greater Scoll of Healing... or whatever its called) however, most of the time, you just get repeated sayings that don't really mean anything if you've gotten them a hundred times already...

Yeah, value is highly debateable. I get nothing but the game hints whenever I spin the WoK, toruble is they only have about 3 of them so like Twizzler0171 said, most of its just repeated quotes and useless stuff.

I think the game is more viable as an investment now that free spins are actually free. If played daily, I usually break even over a two week period.

For me, it has always been a loss. Even if I got a book, it would sell for <1k np, and I haven't gotten any job coupons or scrolls before. Most of the time you get free spins and game hints.

It's in theory possible to get a GHS in less than 30000 spins so it's worth it if you get it.

Just the other day I got a book I was able to sell for about 14,000np so that covers all the times I've spun it. I think it's worth it just cause you might get something really good.

I got a GHS in two months from it, so I'd say it's definitely worth it. I also get pretty windows that help with my packrat av. :D

FYI, anyone who worries about the intelligence of your pet, there is a space on it with an angry King Hagan Face that will decrease your pet's intelligence.

The WOK is as good as the TYS machine.
never fails to dispense stuff you dont need, well, most of the time anyway! xP

you should however spin the WOK a few times, get the game tips, stop, and save those 100nps (is it?) and donate it to the money tree.

It costs 500np to spin the WOK. As for the game tips, I believe you could just go to a help site for them if you really want to know them.

I'd feel sorry for anyone who'd get it on their 30,000th spin... Thats 15 mill NP

I guess i'm lucky I got the Greater Healing scroll on my 2nd spin... Even though the price dropped about 250k since then.

Overall, I think its not worth it... Unless your really bored with your money.

I'd say it's worth it, the Job Coupons aren't that rare a prize, and even the lowest one ought to give you a fat profit if it doesn't take you years to get it..
