Nobody heard of Seussical? I got the soundtrack...you guys should attempt listening to it. Even clips on amazon.com. It's REALLY amazingly catchy.

Ragtime, too. That's won tons of awards...the music is beautiful.

Ohmigod RENT.
I've been hooked for 9 months, but I saw it for the first time last night. RENT is the awesomest.
Evita's good too, but RENT shall forever be the best. ^^

Well, it's SORTA a musical.

The final episode of Futurama. It was absolutely brilliant.

Not sure about actual musicals, though.

hmmm. . . I have lots of favorite musicals:

Catchy, Happy, Hollywood-type Musicals:
Singin' in the Rain
Godspell
Brigadoon
The Court Jester (old Danny Kaye flick, you have to see it, it's hilarious)
White Christmas
Ships Ahoy!

Historical Types:
1776
Les Mis
The King and I
Funny Girl (it's a bio-musical)
Gypsy (also a bio-musical)

Serious, Slightly Darker, Somewhat Sad:
My Fair Lady
Rent
Chicago
Caberet
Jesus Christ Superstar

I've rarely met a musical I didn't like.

I forgot to mention Rocky Horror. I am a moron. *runs away*

Les Mis *cries* *cries some more* It's so beautiful and sad. The music's so haunting. I also love Cats, Rocky Horror, Blood Brothers and Miss Saigon.

Useless facts: A girl from my dance school played Linda in Blood Brothers on the European tour and I've danced with a few members of the cast of Miss Saigon. Wheee....

love musicals, LOVE! i guess my faverote musicals right now would have to be The Producers, it's abot a couple of guyes trying to get a show on brodway, Avenue Q, puppets singing racey lyrics, i say no more. and Throuly Modern Millie, about a girl who goes to NYC to become modern and sheeque.
but my faverote musicals of all time would have to be My Fair Lady ( audry hepburn, Obviously!!!), Caberet, Chicago, and Annie, not the whole thing, just Miss hanigan, cause she was played by Carrole Brnett who is a comidic godess, and she gets to sing "little Girls" and i love that song.
so basicaly musicals are my life, i love em, LOVE!!! i keep half expecting people to hop out of the bushes and start singing and dancing in real life, but they never do, and it saddens me :(

if you are in new york next year, you should come and see my senior project. it's going to be a musical in real-time that takes place on the streets, as though life suddenly became a musical for that one day.

it's going to take a lot of planning, but it's going to be awesome.

I always thought it would be cool to run some sort of 'Musical Retreat' camp type thing. Guests could come and stay, and each week could center around one musical. Everyone would know all the lyrics, so people could just randomly burst into song, and everyone would join.

I wish life were a musical. =(

Wouldn't that be great? People in supermarkets would start singing and dancing randomly involving shopping trolleys. Oh yes. Fun to imagine that sometimes. :P

Have any of you ever seen the music video for Bjork's "It's Oh So Quiet"?
(If you haven't you can go watch it on Launch =D http://launch.yahoo.com/artist/videos.a ... ID=1002766 )

It's like a spontaneous musical. She's walking in public, singing, and everytime she gets to the chorus, everyone around her joins in.
The mailbox even starts dancing...

or bjork's painfully gorgeous musical "Dancer in the Dark." not to be watched unless you're prepared to cry your eyes out.
