was feeling very generous, so i sold my tyrannian paint brush to someone for 285k because he had one of those "stories". I just checked his trades and he's trying to sell it for 300k

That's really quite common (selling a traded item for a higher price), and not unreasonable either, unless the "story" he toid you was that he wanted to paint his pet very badly, boo hoo.
