What map site are you using?

Currently, I'm using http://www.geocities.com/neoquest_2/ - I certainly prefer IDNQ, but it does the job well enough :)

I'm also using that site...it's got 10s of 1000s of hits since NQII was released. It was probably the first ever site to get ALL the information

Oh, and what does Casting Haste do?.

Makes the time from when the character casts a spell until its next turn shorter.

If you're not ready to face Zombom yet, I'd try to work my way back out to White River anyway and try not to get so low on potions next time. I mean, you're on Evil, right? So the worst that can happen is you die and wake up in White River anyway. That's what I'd do, anyway. YMMV.

Experience in Insane -- Actually, I don't think you get less experience per battle in Insane, per se. I think it's just that you're normally a higher level when fighting a given monster on Insane than you would have been on Normal or Evil, out of caution and because everything has more HP (twice what they had in Normal for regular monsters).

So in practice you do end up getting less experience per battle. But I think you still get the same amount of experience for any given level disparity between you and the monster, it's just that you usually have a higher level disparity in Insane. Also, everything having extra hit points means stuff just plain takes longer to kill.

Just wanted to announce that I beat it on evil last night. I got the halo of devilpuss. Now my main debate is whether or not I should start insane. Mind you my main reason for beating evil was economic. For me it was a good way to kill time, get random events, and end up with an expensive item. So now I'm wondering if I should start insane.

I'll just hunt to Zombom then when level 11 I'll sneak. Fight if I'm attacked.

It really depends on whether you have the patience or not. I died about 5 times on Insane, but then after dying to Zombom gave up and played evil again. Now I'm in Act Two ^-^

That's the method most people use - level up and then make a run for it. I think I was actually Level 12 by the time I got to him without dying before all his minions :P

FIVE ATTEMPTS? YOU'VE GOT SOME FIERY DETERMINED SPIRIT THERE :o

Weath you should start insane is up to you...the worst you could egt is the staff, worth about 1.4 million NP, plus the 50k. I'm too whimpy to start insane. Just hope for a Wand of Reality or Bow of Destiny. They're around 4 million worth, and the sword is 2.2. The chance of getting the 4 million NPs ones are 2/4.

Not really - three of the times I was only level 4 or 5, one of the times I was in the first cave, and then the other time I lost to Zombom - which is what made me decide just to stick to Evil for now ;)

I guess I am being over cautious again, I just entered the cave of dark things and I am halfway to level 46. :roflol:

The Spider Grundo's boost will smash you to level 46 :) If not, hunt in Blathazar's grove. Then each level of the house will smash you another level, making you 48 for the faeries. They're honestly easy.

wow, i was at level 47 (evil) when i then decided to challenge the faeries. i had 50k gold, so itd hurt if i lost... the opponent attacked first by mesmerizing velm... smart move (literally)...

when i defeated the fire faerie, velm died... then mipsy died when the dark faeries health was half way. both rohane and talinia defeated it, then the 2 faeries defeated talinia, while they had full health, and rohane at full. so then i tried to flee (first time i ever tried to flee from a boss fite), and FAILED! so then they kept hitting me, and i tried again. still failed. they hit me even more. luckily, i had 12 health left, then i fled successfully :D

well now i have to spend like 3k on potions again, but thats better than 25k loss, with nothing in return, right?

potions meaning the slowing potions

Under oath, those faeries were easy for me! WHY DOES EVERYBODY SAY THEY ARE HARD??? yeah, sure, I was over-nervous before I fought them, and they were anoyying, but easy. Now evil :o How hard will they be?

Edit: I'm level 11, sneaking to Zombom. Wish me luck. Got 150 HP....not lookin good.

Edit 2: BEAT HIM! 6 vials and two blast potions left...now with Mipsy, ALL shall fall under my fear  Even Terask shall cringe with fear!
