Oh dear..thats a shame.

Atleast you got some collateral,as others said.
But maybe it WAS in in the trades for you..

If you got collateral, it's not a big loss. Simply buy a new one.

You guys won't believe this... I bought a new one, lent it out and the person I lent the card to lost it. She claimed she put it into trade and then the card disappeared.
It is very strange because her collat is worth over 8m (I think): Greater tiki amulet and bracelet of kings. What do you guy think?
I feel so sorry for her/

Man, that really bites, I think. Depending on what position she's in....

The price of being nice. This just goes to show, kids... BE MEAN!

Sorry -- had to throw in some humor there. Stinks about the card, though.

If you want to be nice, keep one item and give one back to her. If not, keep both.

It is such a co-incident that I am still feeling a bit suspicious.
I told her I will probably sell the items and buy another card. Any excess neopints will be given back to her.

That would be a good idea as well. But keep an eye on her just in case.

yptee, i am likely to call bluff if i am in your situation. it's pretty straightforward to me..if you lend out your card for a collateral, you should keep the collateral until your card's returned. don't return the collateral or compensate for her "loss".

I have the same sentiment as Mystique. That is the purpose of collateral, you keep it if they can't return it to you.

Yup, when borrowing something and offering something valuable of theirs as collateral, people know they're taking a risk. If they lose your item, you get to keep their collateral and they can't complain about it.
This is why I don't lend to people, though.

In future, be careful about who you lend things to neh?

A bit of update for you guys.
I was chatting to somebody over the weekend. Somehow the topic turned to MSPP and I mentioned that I lost my card twice and I also mentioned the name of the second person who lost my card (he claimed it was due to a glitch).
I got the following neomail back from that person:
"He didn't lost your card. He offered to sell the card to me for pure yesterday."
Needless to say I am soooooo mad!
I promised to give him the profit (if I manage to sell the items at all!!!) but now he can forget about it. To think that I felt so guilty for keeping his item. You just don't know who to trust any more.
